LOL, my wife would thank you, I spent a little much this week and can't afford any more "good-deals".,,, I would end up in some deep-#%*@ if I found another one

I'll be carrying a Pre-ban Bushy Superlite Carbine like new on my back for sale.

Went to the show on Friday night.  Nothing special to report.  Got some Wolf 223 for $125/500 and some Breakfree.  Isles were nice and wide this time.  I imagine there were less tables than at the last show.  There were about 30 or 40 tables that were empty.  I guess they will be full on Saturday morning though.

I got back a few hours ago and was kind of disappointed. I went looking for a Sub2000 and didn't see one. Some noteable deals I saw where $1695 for a MSAR STG556 and $699 for a DPMS 20" A2. I surprisingly found some decent deals on ammo too. I got 600rnds of CCI mini mag for $34 and 200rnds of 7.62x39 for $40. Only other thing I bought was a cheap chinese made M7 bayonet that ended up not fitting my Mossberg 590

I'll be there on Saturday around noon with a NIB Walther G22 rifle that I never got around to shooting.

I'll be there with some guys from work on Sunday. I heard a rumor that PA NICS was shut down on Sundays now. Can anyone confirm or deny that??

[#14]
I went this morning...  I got a good deal (I think it was good but I have been looking for a while) on a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible 45 Colt / 45 ACP (I paid $347 and the gun looks great).  I also met Howard Block to pick up my YHM 7.62 supressor that I am finally to finally take possession of (I bought it back in December).

The show was packed but a good bad looking at guns is better then a good day at work wishing I could be looking at guns...

I just got back.  Picked up some privi 75g ammo for $75 200 rd BP.  That is a pretty good price.  Bought some 12ga 00 LE buck shot and a lula mag loader for the uzi.  It was still crowded at 1pm when i got there.

Note---heard dealers grumbling that nics was not working and they couldn't sell any guns.  How f'd up is that that these guys pay for tables and can't even sell their guns.  Stupid f'ng checks.  I think this is a conspiracy---trying to shut down gun shows.

Typical, happens all the time at VF. Hopefully not tomorrow. If you see a guy with a black backpack and an Extrema Ratio Black ball cap, that's me, so say hi!
3/8/2008 3:50:15 PM EDT
[#17]
I got a DPMS complete lower kit (LPK, Buttstock, receiver) for $209 +tax, and a Rem 870 18" black synthetic 12ga for $319 +tax.

I had to wait on the 870 for THREE HOURS because NICS was down for maintenance.

Oh, and people: If you're going to be packed in a room with hundreds of other people, TAKE A FUCKING SHOWER YOU NASTY MOTHERFUCKER.

Thank you.

Federal "american Eagle Tactical" xm193 lowest price was $189 for 500 rounds(case)

hornady 223 TAP 75gr was $144 for 10 boxes(case/200rnds)

lots of room to walk but  alot less dealers. overall, not great.

I was sooo close to buying a police trade-in glock.  The dude wanted $340, but he was such a huge asshole that I didn't want to bother trying to cut his price down.

...anybody have a G17 they don't want?

Wow, admission is up to $9 now - pretty sure it was $7 last year, although I don't think I did the december show.   Pretty much same old, same old - I was hoping someone would have an HK45 or 45C to fondle, but didn't see any.    I do look forward to see what Phoenix Distributors has, usually have interesting surplus/trade-ins for cheap - they had 3 P226's there for $350 when I was in there earlier today.    Not in the best external condition, but if I didn't already have a P226 with a P225/P6 on the way from AIM, I would have jumped - IMHO a better deal than the P6's that are currently hot.

I was just at Tanners on Saturday.  Like new 3rd Gen Glock 17 was under $400, came with mags, box and manual.  They also had a HK USP 45 w/ 12 round mags for $425.... so tempting.

Just to the left of the center row...  one of the first rows as you enered the main room.  they always have PD Trades.  I was considering one of the Beretta 96 Double Action Only guns (don't remember the price but they were cheap).

Was it a tactical or just regular USP? If it was a tactical, I'm gonna need to know where Tanners is. ;)

If it was a Tactical my Tact would have a sibling  It was just a regular fullsize USP w/ dead night sites.

OH, MAN you're lucky. I hadn't been interested in the MSAR rifles at all until I held one yesterday, now I think I want one of them instead of a Masada. I couldn't BELIEVE how compact the 16" barrel was, and that optic was great. That stock was really comfortable, as well.

So $1700 is a good price for one? Ouch. How do they run? Are they accurate?

Yeah, about Tony...

Whenever I go to his table, he is doing something questionable with an upper. This time he had a stainless steel barrel clamped in the teeth of a bench vise, no padding on the jaws, just  teeth against the bare barrel, and he was grinding on the extension with a dremel. I think he was making feed ramps, but who knows, he was looking around and talking to people while he was doing it, so it didn't look like much of a precision operation to me. WTF?

Last time I saw him beating the hell out of an upper receiver with a metal hammer in a manner that did NOT look beneficial to the upper...

He also wanted $85 for a 4-pos plastic CAR buttstock, and $50 for CAR plastic handguards.

I don't think I will ever buy anything from that guy.

You should have seen then strangely "fluted" barrels he had on display.

His operation is very garage like. Cannot see why people think he does quality work. His stuff is beat up an old and yet he sells for ridiculous prices. I wonder about the people who think he does quality work. They are probably the same people who go to the show and buy the nazi memorabilia crap.

LOL, I saw that one too!

The one I'm talking about was a stainless barrel with "ribbing" carved into it. It looked kind of like this, but the grooves were deeper, and more pronounced.

In playing devil's advocate I would argue that some of the crap may have some value because it's old and rare, but seriously, what fuck-up wants to buy a new swastika flag?

I general though, I guess I'd rather have swastika filled gun shows with my free speech than have neither.

Who in their right mind would risk firing a barrel that was sold by Tony that looked like that?

Those things would not qualify as tomato sticks in jersey.

I don't think Tony is a bad guy. I just think his "fancy" uppers are silly. If you are looking for used parts for an AR and he has it, then by all means buy from him. Some stuff is over priced, some is fair. But those silly uppers have to go.

Tony is guy that builds uppers at the show. He is the only guy that does it.
