I say write or call all of them.  Make sure everyone you vote for knows how you feel about gun control.  Click here to find your reps, etc. link

Thank you for wanting to get involved.  Email is often a quicker way to reach these folks.  Imagine if our legislators heard from every registered gun owner in PA.... WOW!

Yeah...even the black powder crowd!

Be specific.  It is house bill 30 and senate bill 48 that we want defeated.

That means that Platts is NOT the one for the PA bills.  He's the one for HR 1022.  Have you bothered him about that yet?

I am sorry.  Platts is not my legislator so I did not “bother” him. I am not familiar with HR 1022 and have not contacted my legislators about that.

Maybe this will help.

Fellow Pennsylvania Firearm Owner,

It's come time again for us to send out some alerts about what's going on
in
our commonwealth and around the country that affects your rights.

The Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee has scheduled statewide hearings
on the issue of Gun Violence throughout March and April of 2007.

Our hope is that we can get firearm owners to attend these events so that our
voice can be heard among the sea of voices calling for "reasonable gun
control" like:

"Assault Weapon" Bans: PA House Bill 30
- It didn't stop crime at the federal level, why would it here?

Complete Firearm Registration: PA House Bill 760
- Registration leads to confiscation and PA law has outlawed government
firearm registries for years.

Firearm Ballistics Databases: PA House Bill 277
- They have failed to prevent or solve crime everywhere they've been tried.

Banning all firearms that are not electronically "personalized": PA House
Bill 291
- The only firearms this law would allow you to own don't even exist yet!

(Note: We will cover these bills in depth in an upcoming alert)

We also can't help but notice that all of these hearings are being held in
the big cities and not in any of the rural areas of the commonwealth and that
they are all scheduled during the workweek, during work hours. However we
hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend the closest event
and make it known that you expect our legislators to abide by the
Pennsylvania Constitution and Pennsylvania State Law.

In the case that you can't make it to these unfortunately located and
scheduled events we urge you to contact the Judiciary Committee with your
thoughts:

Thomas R. Caltagirone (Chairman)
106 Irvis Office Bldg.
P.O. Box 202127
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2127

Ron Marsico (Minority Chairman)
218 Ryan Office Bldg.
P.O. Box 202105
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2105

Additionally always remember to contact your legislators regarding these
issues. If you do not know who your legislators are you can find out by
visiting our 'Find Your Legislators' page located at:

Once again, thank you for being interested and involved in these issues.
