Ask your agent if you can schedule the firearms on your homeowners policy for a specific amount. They may be able to do a "Blanket" coverage for a specific amount or they may require to place a specific value on each item. Most likely they will require you to carry coverage for atleast 80% of their value. Edited to add: Your best bet is to find an Independent agent that works with many different insurance companies rather than a captive agent that is only allowed to sell for one company. You will have more options that way. |

You might also try Collectibles Insurance Agency. As of their rate chart today you can get $100,000 protection for $430 No Alarm/Safe, $380 with an alarm or safe. They were written up in one of the gun mags a while back. Nice thing is you fill out form, send your money and your covered. Bought a gun and its not listed with the company when it gets stolen. Its still covered. Worth the look. I have a $10,000 policy with them just to avoid arguments with my homeowners policy company. My homeowners will only cover the first $1000 then you get into schedules and escalating charges. Plus anything not listed isn't covered. |
