Tempe has nice neighborhoods but it is too much of patchwork nice to s holes for security. You have conveniences for dining and entertainment but to get that you have to always keep your guard up and deal with panhandlers, thieves and druggies. I used to live in Tempe but moved to just north of AJ and have been happier ever since. |

land locked for a very long time....Tempe has no choice but out with the old in with the new....unless the old don't move.
When boom number 2 hit (early 80's) people were dumping Tempe and S phoenix because with the US60 you could move all the way out to Stapley and be country livin  They sold "cheap" and bought in the "sticks."
Repeat this cycle over 30+ years and what you get are the people that "can't" get out, won't get out, or are trying to rebuild it. Add to that a college town that tends to lean liberal mecca (most if not all college towns are) and in come the hippies/homeless...and it is college so no shortages of bad decisions, cheap rent and dirty drugs |

That map does not seam very accurate or some citys dont report to it. If you look in Peoria, glendale or surprise they show no crime! |

Not much to lose at all, I just don't want somebody to break in and rape me to death. |
