Hey guys where is a good place to go to get a trauma kit? Also what is in a basic personal trauma kit? I had a incident the last time I went to a shoot and NOBODY had anything to help this poor guy. Guy had the grace of god that a ambulance JUST happened to stop by cuz someone had to come see a friend.

Starting next week, Shooter's World in Phx and Peoria will be carrying our kits, as well. It's a small world out there. Buying a kit is nice, but it's useless if you don't have the training to use it. You're better off buying a brick if you aren't going to get trained how to employ the stuff inside.  Good news is that we can handle that, too! In fact, all of our kits are based on our training, as opposed to how most companies build kits, which are based solely on profit. There are some seriously junky kits out there, it's amazing. |

We have a EMT at each shoot, when Rizzo was here I believe it was Chris C. I graduated from Combat medic school at Ft. Sam and have stayed current. We have a good relationship with the Medics at Ft. Huachuca and they keep our bags packed, (Include Epi Pens !!!!!!) I picked up several good kits from Cav Arms and they were well packed. I use those bags to let the medics keep things new.
For you guys I'd go through The Tactical Medic and include some things that you will need quickly in several separate small kits. If anyone wants I'll get into one of our small kits and list the things we have in them. |

Just remember if you give Epi they need Benadryl as well! 20 Short answer, Epi. (Epinephrine) will stop Anaphylaxis but due to such a short half life will not keep the reaction from returning. Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) is an Antihistamine and will keep the reaction at bay for about 3-6 hours. Depending on what the person is reacting to multiple doses of Epi. may be needed up to needing an Epi. drip for extream severe Anaphylaxis. 20 |
| We kept Ben before we had the Epi pens. In fact when I got bitten by an Arizona Brown spider I hit the bite with Ben, soaking it. It actually washed away a significant amount of the poison. I went straight to the hospital and they drew a circle around the bite and put me on Keflex (2 weeks ago) It worked and today there is only a light remnant of a bruise. |
