Im thinking of moving to Chandler from my place here in Williamsburg Virginia.... Seems like a good location. I called the Police Dept and the officer I talked to had also within the last 2 years moved thier himself. He stated its a great town to move to.
What does the Hometown think of that area.... Im looking at the San Cervantes Apts for now ???? |

Once you get here be sure to tell everyone how hot it is, we don't want this place overrun!
I live around three miles from your proposed domicile, not a bad area. You will have to deal with Mall traffic but it is usually not too bad, just stupid drivers in a hurry to get a new pair of shoes or something. Maybe 20 minutes to Sky Harbor airport, 2 minutes to Costco. Merchant Firearms is just past Interstate 10 on Chandler Blvd., good selection and decent prices, nice guys working there too plus class 3 goodies. Any idea where you will be working? Traffic backs up during rush hour on the freeways and surface streets. I used to commute against traffic so it was not bad at all but I would see the opposite side slow or stopped quite a bit. |

Good area. Thread Hijack: I am vacationing in Williamsburg in July. Best way to get to DC, if I wanted to take the Metro or public transport, instead of drive in? Williamsburg is 3 hours from D.C. The only transport to there is: A- Drive yourself B- Catch the Amtrack in Williamsburg and ride the train in C- Catch a Greyhound bus (right next to the train station) and take the bus in Once you are in the D.C.Metro area: A- Take Taxi to your destination B- Ride the Metro (subway) to your destination C- Take the senic tours trolley to the various sites... all day tickets can be bought or just pay each time you board the trolley If your Vacationing in Williamsburg.... Wear confotable shoes..... it's lots and lots of walking and the heat of the day AND night is so miserable, due to the extremely high Humidity conditions.... There is no relief, not even the shade..... Dont go to Busch Gardens July 4th weekend (most crowed time during the whole year)... Elbow to elbo people and waiting to ride a ride takes hours, plus the restraunts run out of food that weekend every year !!!!! |

Quoted: I also live in Chandler area. Stay away from south chandler, not too friendly. Everywhere else, has its slums and highs but are nice still! |

Quoted: He is referring to south downtown chandler area. If you keep going south its nice with big lots of land and farms and rich people. just that strip on arizona avenue from ray down to about pecos and from alma school to mcqueen. There is some shitty neighborhoods in there but nothing you should stress yourself about unless you live in those neighborhoods though. nearly every city in the phoenix area worth living in has some sort of ghetto spot unless you want to live WAAAYYYYY the fuck out there and commute for an hour or two per day. unless you are in actual phoenix and some parts of mesa or glendale there isn't anything to worry about as far as bad neighborhoods.. Yeah I totally keep forgetting that south of the 202 is all "new" as of a few years ago.
