Any of you guys had it?
I'm wondering if you have any recommendations (along with rough idea of cost) in the Phoenix/Glendale area. I don't have insurance, so I'll be paying cash. But, in this case, I don't think going with the lowest bidder is the best call.

It's a very simple procedure. Friends have had them and they considered the procedure no fun. I'm surprised it's $750 but apparently that's in the range. Planned parenthood probably has some good info.

Why don't you guys wait until the next HTF Shoot? After a few beers (for me) I'll do it for free. Just think of the epic threads that will result from the ensuing hilarity around the camp fire when five or six guys pin you to the ground and Dr Bear performs his magic with his rusty trusty EMT shears. Sheeeeeee-it!

Had mine about 4 months ago and it was nothing. mine was needle-less and scalpel-less. procedure was 3-4 minutes, Dr was very nice and informative, very strange to have a conversation with a guy that is working on your junk but he didnt make it wierd. mine was covered by insurance but i just called my place and its $850. Dr. Daitch. AZ Urology Associates at Shea/101 in Snotsdale. was referred to him by my chiropractor Dr friend.
recovery was not bad at all. just get a few bags of peas to rotate and take it easy for a few days. didnt have any pain, just twice that i had that ache you get after getting racked in the balls, only twice and it was about 2 hours each and that was the 3rd and 4th day. if you have a desk job, get it on a Friday and you should be good to go back to work on monday |

Got mine done about 14 months ago at Urology Associates also. I wanted a girl doc cause I thought it would be too wierd to have a guy battin my shit around. I was highly recommeded to Dr Wilson by 2 of my wife's Dr's and I thought she was great. When I scheduled last year, she was booked out like 5-8 weeks (cant remember exactly), where the guy docs were only booked out like a week or 2. It went very smooth, but I did have some sort of infection afterward, and had to be on antibiotics/pain meds for about 3 weeks. It was pretty painful, but from what I hear, I am the exception. Everyone I talked to before and after, had no issues and were back to normal in a few days. Even tho I had issues, I still recommend her, as I dont believe my issues had anything to do with her.
I am actually off to see her tomorrow, as I took a shot playing basketball last week, and I am having some "issues" and want to her to check me out. ETA-I have insurance, but it still cost me around $500-550 plus $70 for the inital office visit. |

Hey, I'm down in Mexico right now. If anybody's gettin' this done right it'll be me. |
I'll have to find my story about mine in the archives. I felt like I was kicked in the nuts. He saiid I'd feel a 'slight tug.' I felt the pull up to my ribs. No, but seriously. My experience sucked. YMMV I know plenty of people who didn't have any issues during or after.
The numbing agent didn't take hold all the way in my left nut. I felt a lot of it. DO NOT lift anything for a week. I got mine done on a Friday, on Sunday I picked up my kids and it hurt like hell. My little son was 2 at the time and it was funny to see the both of us with bags of peas on our nuts. |

I don't see me as a fourth year med student, doing my rotations, shadowing a urologist and watching him touch and see testicles all day, then sticking his fingers in people's asses and checking their prostate, and then afterwards think to myself "that's exactly what I want to do!" Must be the paycheck, I guess. |

He did the right nut first and I passed out for a second from the pain, like a kick in the balls. Seriously, I was out, probably only for a few seconds after he left the room to wait for the anesthetic to kick on left nut. I was in a cold sweat. Second one hurt only about 25% of the first one. On the second one I was slamming my head against the table. This shit was not fun at all. Good news this was about 11 hours ago. Been putting frozen peas on Johnson and no pain. Slept most of the afternoon. Doc said I was an exception, that most so not feel as mush pain as I did. |

Had mine done a month ago (snip, clip, and cauterize) and I chatted with the doc the whole time, even watched him to most of it. The most pain was the initial shot, and then had a little bit of pain for a few days, but overall it was all pretty mild. Honestly the worst part was chaffing from the hair growing back for several days. |
