So I'm starting to look into what it's going to take to get a tax stamp for an SBR so I can get the ball rolling.
It looks like I need a CLEO to sign off on it. Anyone have advice on how to go about this? I assume you don't show up at the station and just ask to talk to the boss. My current address is in Apache Junction, however I'm moving back to Mesa. From what I understand I could have the local PD or the county Sheriff sign off. Since I have options between AJ, Mesa, Pinal and Maricopa, is any particular office faster or easier to work with? Thanks! |

The BATF may soon require photos & prints for trusts. They may also eliminate the CLEO sign off for individual transfers. Link |

Thanks! You have to get CLEO signature for the county YOU live. Pinal sucks to try to get CLEO from what my friend says. If moving back to Mesa, it's Sherrif Joe and MCSO. They have their own ATF branch downtown. Order you forms and fingerprint cards from ATF website, get THREE passport photos made ( don't affix them to forms...MCSO's copier destroys them), bring cards, pics and forms to ATF branch. They will fingerprint you for a small fee. Make three sets of forms because MCSO keeps one and ATF needs two. MCSO does not need the ATF Citizenship form but ATF does.You will have to get one of their forms notorized, there is a bank across the street that will do it. Leave you docs with them and they will contact your in weeks or months depending on back log and how nice you were to them through the window. |

I have been hearing that about the trust thing for a few years now from some in the know guys it still hasn't happened |
