Get a 10/22

They suck. So do the Colt .22 ARs. Get a S&W M&P 15-22 - I know it's more expensive, but it works and is a great piece of equipment.

Or, as mentioned above, get a 10/22.

The Smith 15-22 is the only 22lr AR I would consider. I currently have the sig522 and love it just as much as I loved my 15-22. Short of the 22lr conversion or a dedicated upper those are the only 2 22lr versions of semi auto rifles I will ever own.

FYI ,a box stock Marlin 60 will shoot the pants of a Ruger 1022 . For the money nothing beats a Marlin 60.

M&P 15-22 FTW.
If you go to a steel tactical .22 match at Rio Salado it looks like a Smith & Wesson sponsored event, that’s because they are reliable and run fast.
I’ve probably put 5-6k rounds through mine and it still runs great.
