| Has anyone done a CCW application or renewal recently? The last two times I did it, it took about two weeks or so and I've been waiting on my renewal for close to a month now. I'm worried that if something got misplaced I won't have time to submit another one before the end of the grace period. I'd love to take another defensive pistol course but I don't want to do another CCW class and I can't afford it now, anyway. |
| 2-3 months, they are that far behind. I've taught a CCW class every week for three months. We have two separate teams teaching classes through GFT and yesterday both were teaching in two different places. People understand that in a courtroom you'd best have someone able to testify that you had training and you can articulate AOJ. |

Wow. Okay. Stuff like this really drives home the massive surge of personal defense and responsibility that Zero unintentionally inspired.
That makes me feel a lot better, though. I'll just be patient and remember to have my wife submit her application 30 days before her permit expires. Thanks. |

bluefalcon - you can submit a renewal app up to 90 days in advance., and these days I recommend that. Our students are reporting up to 16 week wait time to process apps. And yes, there has been a surge in CCW training, but a drop in defensive and higher level training, primarily due to the ammo shortage.
As a side note, if you haven't taken a. CCW course in a while, it's not a bad idea so that you can get updated legal info as well as get some additional instructors in your corner. Keep in mind that Independence Training offers refresher courses for $50 |
