If you have a facebook page drop by flakes page.  He has decided he will vote yes on opening debate on gun control   .  He is getting hammered in the comments to this statement.  Let this motherfucker know that there is no old people vote to save his ass if he has any hand in new gun laws and that our rights are not up for debate.

Love the language of his post:

Tomorrow (Thursday) the Senate will have a cloture vote on the gun bill. Voting “yes” on cloture allows the bill to be debated. Since Majority Leader Reid has agreed to an open process on the bill, I will vote yes on cloture.

We are still waiting for the Manchin-Toomey bill language. Apparently, the aim of the Manchin-Toomey approach is to expand background checks but not make them universal. I'll post something here once I see the text.

My question to him was, why would you vote "yes" to debate a bill that has not even reached your desk?  You can't have a meaningful debate over something you haven't seen before.

Serious question.

How do we start a recall petition?  I'm thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one going.  To prove we mean what we say and aren't just a bunch of talk.

Sent this to Flake just now. McCain has been a lost cause for years but he's getting a copy too.

This Yes vote today tells me that all of you who voted that way have absolutely given up on resolving any mental health issues this country faces. You instead have chosen the path of what you consider the least resistance and will now debate bills that should never be considered in the first place. No matter how it turns out you are burdening a large percentage of a free society that have not and will not commit any crimes, except for exercising of their constitutional rights. What will you go after when any of these bills, if they succeed, fail to do what you intend? How much more of a burden will you place on a law-abiding free society? And also, why would you vote to debate a bill you haven't seen, much less read?

Just got done on his FB page, don't know if be or any of his handlers read it, but I didn't see one favorable comment left there. I really shouldn't be surprised, another sellout politician? Wow, there's a shocker. And people wonder why there's little support for the Republicians party, no balls anymore and no real leaders.

25% of the total votes cast in the election for his office.

However, he can't be recalled until June.  Has to be in office for 6 months before a recall petition can start.

I appreciate the comments on this page, even though they are overwhelming critical of my "yes" vote on cloture on the gun bill.

Let me explain why I voted to proceed to debate on the floor, even though I am opposed to the gun bill that emerged from the Judiciary Committee.

The Senate has been dysfunctional for some time now. For years, Democrats have routinely refused to allow Republican amendments on bills that reach the Senate floor, and consequently, Republicans have routinely refused to allow these bills to reach the floor. That's no way to run the Senate.

On the gun bill, Senator Reid has committed to an open amendment process on the floor, and consequently, a sufficient number of Republicans voted today to allow debate on the bill.

A yes vote on cloture is not a vote to pass the bill - it is simply a vote to begin debate. Just as a 60 vote threshold is required to begin debate, a 60 vote threshold will be required to end debate.

I support the 2nd Amendment. If the bill in its final form is inconsistent with the 2nd Amendment, I will vote against it.

[spin doctor statement] "Now, now, this is 'just a vote to allow us to debate it'. It really isn't 'gun control'. And NO senators would attach amendments that would make it more palatable to the Senate as a whole, like a budget measure or tax breaks for the chillrun. That would NEVER happen. After all, the best place to discuss civilian disarmament gun control is by 100 pampered protected peers of the realm elected representatives of the people." [/spin doctor statement]

Seriously? Screw him. He and McCain are willing to use gun 'control' bills as a bargaining chip, but they apparently don't understand that anything will be considered a victory for Democrats and will get them more seats in the Senate/House next November. And then we stand absolutely no chance.

<h5 data-ft="{'type':1,'tn':'K'}" class="uiStreamMessage">I
am glad to see you aren't supporting this bill. While our second
amendment does not deserve a debate at least you wont support this crap.

Something I would like you to think about before
supporting a mental illness bill though is the fact that millions of
people in the future could be stripped of their rights due to an OPINION
that they MIGHT do something that they likely WOULD NEVER DO.

Please do not attempt to open a pandoras box precedent and keep in mind
that distrust of government is considered delusional by liberals.
Even though our republic was founded on distrust of government these
people would gladly label us a threat to remove our firearms.  Hell the
DHS already considers us domestic terrorists for believing in the
constitution.

Don't forget
that the way YOU interpret a law is not always how some tyrant in the
future will interpret it.  They will abuse the laws like they currently
do to justify damn near anything they want to do to us.

... Look, my family and the NRA unequivocally oppose S. 649 and all anti-gun amendments to this bill

For weeks, ARFCOM has diligently contacted our U.S. Senators and asked them to oppose S. 649 and all anti-gun amendments, while urging support for reforms that respect gun owners’ rights, and enhance the safety of all Americans.  Now, in these crucial next days, in addition to continuing to contact your U.S. Senators with these important messages, our challenge to you is to spread the word!  Please contact a minimum of five of your family, friends, or fellow firearm owners and ensure they contact their U.S. Senators immediately with this same message!

Please continue contacting your Senators and find five others to do the same.  You can use the "Write Your Reps" feature at www.NRAILA.org, or you can reach your U.S. Senators  by phone at 202-224-3121.

The time to act is NOW!  Ask your Senators to oppose S. 649 and all anti-gun amendmentsincluding the anti-gun Schumer-Manchin-Toomey proposal!

We need consistency in our Senators --- and Flake is not.

Had he have simply stuck by his guns in the first place, and refused to bless the Manchin-Toomey debacle, he would NOT be getting grief from those of us on board.   But this is what happens when you flip flop, and you get to pay the price.

Funny, but now Flake is taking grief from the scum sucking liberals here in Arizona that want background checks.    I was almost feeling sorry for Flake, but then I said --- nah, this JACKWAGON gets what he deserves when he flipped flopped the first time.

He is being counted as one of the "no" votes.  Contact him, Facebook, email, phone or all of them to make sure he remains a no vote.   McCain is actually counted as undecided so hit him up too.  If he could be persuaded, that would be one less vote the Schumer-Manchin-Toomey bill has.
