| I just saw possible gunman on campus at U of A? Any details? |
|
Anything that even remotely could be construed as someone suspicious on campus is going to get the full reaction since the shooting at the nursing school some years ago.
Although to be fair I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be like the gunman at DM, nonexistent. At least I hope so. |
| The DM thing was two Army guys who had purchased a handgun at the BX and were showing it around in the parking lot. Both were spread eagled but an Airman wearing civlian clothes had stopped to look at the gun and then went off toward a secure area. Ft. H. CID folks have been laughing about it , but when you purchase a gun at the PX you get walked to your car to put it away. |
| I'm not sure you are thinking of the same thing... here you are escorted out of the BX too... but the active shooter thing that "never happened" here, happened like 4 or 5 blocks away from the BX and no where near a "secured" area, But your story would still be better then what every local news stations/website actually reported... http://www.azfamily.com/news/Tucsons-Davis-Monthan-Air-Force-Base-on-lockdown-129969028.html This is the story I am talking about and figured was being talked about, as it's the only "gunman/active shooter" story I know about at DM in the last 5 years or so (since I wasn't here before that I have no clue). |
| The threefeathers version of the "DM thing" is total crap.. And like another poster has said I wont go into it on the net and it really doesn't matter now anyways. As for the UA thing, my personal feeling is it was test day for some unprepared student and they called in a "sighting" to get classes cancelled. This is actually pretty common on campus, however, they usually just pull a fire alarm to get out of class.. |

sorry azguns, Sgt T and his sone are still certain they were the cause. But I don't know the real stuff, but that story did happen and it is sort of funny. That said, it very well could have been a seperate incident. I can however, introduce you to the two folks if you are in S Vista.
On the Uof A incident, I agree, I suspect either someone wanted out of class, or someone who is wrapped up by the hysteria caused in main by the press saw something that 'looked' like a gun and hit the panic button. What I hope is that it wasn't an actual gunman who chickened out, or worse, someone testing alarm systems on a dry run. |
