[ARCHIVED THREAD] - SAR SHOW? (Page 1 of 2)

| Who's going? You think there will be any ak parts kits for sale at non-rapage prices? Will there be a stampede/mass trampling at the front gate due to obummer stealing reelection? |
|
Yep - I thought the insanity would be dying down by now but now I'm second guessing if I wanna "blade" for an AK parts kit... Oh crap I just checked apex for kits (the ones that I was interested in @ least) & they are all gone! Damn!

I'll be there most likely on Friday. Should be interesting under the circumstances. It is usually a busy show but this year will probably be insane. |

Anybody go today? Im going tomorrow and would love if anyone had an AAR to offer. I went with the sole intention of picking up projos and primers and did just that, saw some other cool stuff good prices on projos. Unfortunately I had to be somewhere at 3:00 I would have liked to look around more but did not have time. I did get a chance to molest a nice POF 308 I have been thinking of putting together a SASS style AR. What are you looking for? Bought m193 55grn projos 60 per 1000 Bought Berrys 115 grn 65 per 1000 Bought some other 9mm projos 60 per 1000 CCI SM Rifle primers 26.90 per 1000 Winchester small pistol primers 26.90 per 1000 |
| It was a zoo today. Busiest I've seen it on a Friday. Federal American Eagle 55 gr .223 was $429 per 1000. Ammo selection was pretty slim overall. I wanted to pick up some Federal GMM .308 but they were still inventorying the booth that had it and wouldn't sell it to me. Couldn't even get a price out of them. |

I went today:
I did not notice a lot of superb deals to be had, with a few exceptions, I did see several people paying close to retail prices for common, used guns, as well as a relatively high overall price on AR magazines. The market was pretty much flooded with AR stuff and tactical everything. I believe there was a pretty good deal on some used Glock .40 magazines. Ammo seemed to be about average. It seemed like some people were raising prices a little in anticipation of a AWB or similar, but overall I thought nothing was too terrible. For people interested in NFA stuff, there was a ton of it, as to be expected. I don't keep track of prices on NFA items too much, but I noticed a lot of people trying to move some of the stuff that was more expensive to shoot at what seemed like reasonable prices. If anyone has any questions about my experience, feel free to ask. |

That's crazy, you can get it for nearly $100 less still online. I really don't think the panic is that big as compared to four years ago. Shelves at Wal-Mart are still loaded down with ammo that's also cheaper than the gun showIt was a zoo today. Busiest I've seen it on a Friday. Federal American Eagle 55 gr .223 was $429 per 1000. | I went yesterday and thought it was pretty good. There weren't too many real "deals" going except I did get a brand new Vltor imod stock for $30! Also with so many vendors there I was able to find some used stuff I had been looking for much cheaper than I had been able to find online. I skipped the ammo because deals looked to be about average and for that I didn't feel like hauling it the half mile back to my car. I'd say this show is still worth going to since it is really 2-3 shows in one. Wear comfortable shoes! |

The J&G table was surprsingly quite yesterday. Walked right up to their table and a guy actually asked if I needed help! The sign "Cash Only" may be causing some to walk by. azski No, it's when they ask you for your drivers license -- that's what causes a lot of people to walk by. Or just not do business with them at all. I went today and it was nearly a complete waste of time. I haven't been to a gun show since SAR show 2010 ans I may never go back to another. I didn't find anyone who had 5.56 at a decent price and a few that were asking ass-rape prices. If you were in the market for cheap Chinese made textile goods at full retail prices this show was your wet dream. I found one small table that was selling gen 2 windowed P-Mags at a reasonably fair price. His were $15 and everyone else had them at at least $17.50. Gen 3 P-Mags were going for $20-$25 each. I really wasn't in the market for a firearm but there weren't many guys walking around with firearms for private sale, especially compared to years past. Those I saw had crappy mil surplus stuff, bolt action rifles, and Taraus handguns. I probably would have bought an AK for a reasonable price. No vendors had anything under $800 and I saw none for sale privately. Highlight of the show was running into Jason (TCB Firearms) at his table. He seemed to be doing well with sales and, seriously, his holster were probably the best value at the entire show. Anyone know where I can find a case of 5.56/.223 target ammo for under $400? |

I dont go there for guns and ammo. I did find some amazing treasures though, dug thru alot of "junk boxes" and found some items I've been seeking for years. Saw lotsa friends and had a great dinner with same.
Free parking Free entry Walked the show for four hours on friday before it opened to the masses Good times for me. |

Thanks for your responses guys, I do appreciate! Was debating whether or not to go but I have to replace my ear plugs that were stolen and I need a new night sight for my Glock so I'm gonna head down there and get that stuff. There were several ear plug vendors so you shouldn't have any problem. Glockmeister was in his usual place, too. One product I saw a lot of this year that hadn't been prevalent in years past were steel targets. There were three or four vendors who had really nice AR500 steel plates in a variety of target configurations, all of which seemed well designed. I picked up a reactive target for $35. Would really like to have had one that was made by the guys who had a table in the north west part of the SAR building. They had 1/2" AR500 IPSC shaped targets that had windows that had hinged plates behind them made of AR500 steel, so you'd be able to target those small areas on an already kickass target if you really wanted to test your accuracy. The stands were nicely designed, too. The price was a bit out of my range at $350 but that's not to say I don't think they were worth it. |

It was pretty good show, Thanks for the Holster TCB! As usual, it is a certified BA holster! I am a bit jealous of the flaming pink one tho Saw Tim and the EV3 crew, nice gear and vid! That suppressor was a lil burnt looking
