1 car accident in Williams. R I P, Larry. Having been in a less serious accident in that area myself several years ago i advise everyone to slow down when driving at night.

My prayers go out to his family.  I liked Sheriff Dever and always had a clean conscience after I voted for him.  He will be missed.

That blows, always hurts to have another good guy pass. I will echo your slow down, and raise it with a "be careful". I was just in an accident on Aug 30 while on duty and was in the hospital for 10.5days. Drive safe fellas, you never know when tragedy can strike, especially on the roadways.

RIP to the Sheriff.....

I heard the news on the radio this morning... he was one of the good ones that you don't hear much about.

Very sad to hear.  I spoke with him over the phone while discussing NFA CLEO sign-off's before I decided to go the trust route.  He was very respectful and polite.  From what I've read he was definitely one of the good guys in the local community.

I never meet the sheriff but he seemed like a standup guy. Liked that he told it like it is down here in AZ especially the border counties. Didnt cave to the federal government. His leadership will be sorely missed!

I first met him at the Miracle Valley debacle, Vince Madrid was one of my Shotokan students and both he and Larry were wounded that day.  Vince had both arms broken by the bitch with the hammer, Larry caught a shotgun blast.  I had been driving from Bisbee to S V to exchange game film s with Truman.  I visited him in the S V Hospital as soon as I found out.  Larry was personally very supportive of my efforts to teach the inter-agency firearms courses on Post and on one of the Wilcox area ranches.
Sturm says he was a good guy and I absolutely concour.
I expect Denny to take over until an election can be held.

... So terribly sad , Arizona lost one of its key Conservative Sheriffs

Please support his survivors that champion fiscal-conservatism and a tough on illegal-immigration posture

I heard this first hand from his family this morning, who are good friends of my wife and I. It is a real shame, and strikes close to home with us for several reasons.

Very sad to hear. It sucks when it hits so close to home. He was a good man.
