My name is Jeff, I'm a 47 Y.O. who maybe getting diagnosed with having Lymphoma next week. Does not look good I have already missed two months of work. If I am diagnosed with Lymphoma, I will, more than likely, have to start on Chemo and Radiation. I am still going to try to keep hope that biopsies come up negative. If i do have cancer my career as well as having a job is over. Coming in a week or two, depending what the results say, I will be putting up for sale a number of firearms and ammo for sale on EE hometown forum.I will need to do this so I have some way to by food, pay medical bills, and not have my mom and sisters have to fork out money for me. Be on the look out in the coming weeks. I will post Biopsy result Thanks Jeff |

Hi Jeff. Wait until you get the diagnosis. There is no sense fucking your head up until you have an answer. Once you have an answer, formulate a plan. Take control and eliminate the negativity. Stay off the fucking internet. Any chance you have short term disability through your employer? |
| My 10-year old nephue was diagnosed as having non-hodgkins lymphoma a few weeks ago. Had surgery to remove a mass on his neck, then started Chemo and Radiation treatments. When his hair started falling out, he had ais mom go ahead and shave it all off. Actually looks a lot better as he had a mop for a haircut. Still in school with my daughter and doing alright. He does get tired now and again and is wiped after the chemo/radiation. If you do get diagnosed, contact the many cancer organizations as many provide income assistance while you are undergoing treatment. Best of luck, and I hope it's negative. |

I will pray for you. God always has a plan for us.
Should the diagnosis be positive don't let it change your life. If you have a halfway decent employer they will work with your chemo schedule. Close friend at work has been fighting breast cancer for 6 years and always has chemo treatments on Friday so she can use the weekend for recovery. Don't get down on yourself, work is important as it helps to get your mind off the negative things. Your co-workers should/will be supportive and it's important that you are around them. |

Not all diagnosis=fatality. I know someone who was diagnosed in 2006 and 2011 and is still here & doing well. (2nd round was very light, thank goodness.)
Talk to your oncologist - societies can & do dispense funds to help. Cancer sucks, though. No two ways about it. But you can beat it! |

Thanx everyone! Two more days till my biopsy procedure.
Radiologist who did my MRI said that with the number of nodes being enlarged and the way they appeared he was concerned for malignancy. He also said there was a chance for an autoimmune disorder or chronic infection to cause this to the lymph nodes, but he put lymphoma at the top of the list. we'll see. |

Listen, your mind is the best weapon against this shit. I understand the worry about money, but it is a bit negative to look on things in this manner and start mentally selling off property that probably means a lot and that you used to enjoy life. I was 35 when I was told I was going blind, was bleeding in my right eye, no cure possible, and I was kicked out of the service. I put myself and my family through hell thinking my life was fucked and all but over. The stress I laid on myself caused things to happen much sooner than they should have, and I lost all central vision in my left eye in 3 years. 20/20 to 20/400 in 36 months, all because of my mental idiocy. I got help. And I realized that life was far from over, better treatments have come along, and now, even with only 15% of the central vision in my right eye remaining, I enjoy the beautiful smile of my granddaughter each and every day. And with new glasses and the help of friends and family, I still enjoy getting to the range.
Pawn a gun or two if money gets tight, or sell to friends on the deal that you can buy them back. Please, sell only to strangers as a last resort. Stay Strong and keep fighting! |
