I went there not long ago, and they asked for my ID, which I thought was a bit odd.  Does anybody here know why they do this?  I've never had it happen before.

Yes, they are a wonderful group.  They have had suspected Bad Guys try to get training there so they are very careful.  2Feathers and I will be sponsoring both Tom Givens instructor's class and Mas Ayoob later this year.
The two directors there are both VN Vets, 1st Cav.

Are they just looking at it or recording info?

I shoot competitions there and I don't think I've ever been asked for ID...

They are just looking, not recording.

Just looking???     what,  do they have a "most wanted" list that they are compairing names to???

Ive also been there many times  shooting matches and never been checked.   Maybe its different for the open/public range side?

I think this. I've been there once just to do some target shooting with a friend, and they asked for ID. The other few times I've been there for competitions there was no ID check.
