We are in the process of renting our house out and moving to a new home and before I transfer over utilities I was wondering what the better choice is.
Here is my run down.... Through Cox, I pay about $180 a month for one digital DVR reciever. We have a few HBO channels and a few Showtime but hardly ever watch their movies. We also have internet and phone through them as a "bundle". I upgraded to the digital DVR not too long ago and have exchanged it four times due to some CISCO programming error on the new boxes. Anyone here have experience with both? I am really interested in hearing from anyone that went from Cox to Direct and what the reasoning was and how it has been. Thanks |
| i used to be a cox tech and would have cox over direct, but direct is cheaper and they have more options for channels, if you like to watch football then direct is the way to go. I have a guy that i know that might be able to hook you up with a pretty good deal with direct if thats the way you go, the only reason i dont have direct now is the big tree in front of my place i cant get direct HD so i stayed with cox . Also where is the rental house at because my girl and I are looking to rent a house in sept when our lease it up at our apartment. |

The rental is northwest Phoenix, we have a 12 month signed lease already....it rented quick. I will let you know if anything falls through. |

A few years ago I woke up one day and realized I was spending a thousand dollars a year on TV. Bad TV at that. Netflix for the kid, aerial antenna for the wife. $7.99/ month. I can't fathom having a $180 monthly communication bill on top of the already expensive cell phones. |

My entertainment bill is also 7.99 a month. We pay for hulu plus and run it on the flatscreen in HD via the xbox, and someone in my family is nice enough to let me use their netflix account we also run that through the xbox and it gets put on the flat screen. If you have netflix+hulu you have 90% of media out there. The other 10% if its worth watching I find a way to get it. |
| I pay $54 a month for Cox second tier internet. That's more than fast enough to stream movies, download totrents, etc. I think their slower broadband is about 15 a month cheaper, and it's still very capable. Is it really worth 180 a month for Pawn Stars and Dog Chapman? |

I had Cox for 7-8 years until the first of the year. I now have Direct and can't imagine me ever going back to Cox. Way more channels, great quality, zero issues so far. We have one DVR which is very easy to use and navigate. I do have 2 Cox accounts for internet, one being for a business, the other for internet porn surfing, both of which are great. Had DSL once and would never go back to it.
