... for some odd reason this is intriguing to me

Sounds like a perfect excuse for a comfortable lounge-chair, cigar, binoculars and a fine double-malt bourbon

It's pretty bright but I can't tell the difference.

It only really looks bigger when it is coming over the horizon, this happens whenever you get the moon on the horizon (some illusion effect) but tonight the moon was just a bit closer to the earth. In town its not so noticeably brighter, just another bright full moon, but out in the desert it seems real bright (for a moon)

It looked cool coming over the horizon, but I wasnt sure exactly where to position myself for the best view out where Bush Hwy and 87 cross, it looked pretty cool reflecting off of Saguaro lake, it was bright enough that you could see all the boats out on the water and people standing around in the parking lot. You can se your shadow clearly in it too.

Wish I had a good zoom lens, lots of them out there tonight.

That cigar and bourbon sounds like a good idea, Some people had chairs out and camera on tripods with jazz playing there at Saguaro lake, I could smell a cigar too, they had the right idea.

It looks like the difference between an old incandescent light bulb and a new CFL bulb.
It really gives the dark parts definition, and I just used my hunting binos and they worked great.
I'm not big into astrology, but it's worth five minutes of your time to go and look.

I'm on the rear deck with a Macanudo and a couple of barley pops right now.

Did look bigger than normal on the horizon. But it was a beautiful big bright full moon. I felt like howling at it.

I regret not doing it now.

You really want to see a "super" moon?

Really?

OK....
