I wish we could smash them all into one person and elect them all. I like some things about each of them, and similarly dislike things about each of them, but any of them would be better than what we've got now.

I like how they came out claiming Romney won before voting had barely even started.
Nice way to skew/suppress the voting.

I'm in a very conservative part of Glendale. I was at the polling place last night and saw about 4 "wimmin" getting provisional ballots to vote in the republican primary. honestly by their appearance and demeanor, I thought they were there to vote in the green party primary

I think they usually go off of absentee/early votes to predict who they think will win.

Seriously, what the fuck is up with Arizona politically?  On the one hand, it's an extremely conservative state, lots of decent people, good laws, etc, and on the other hand, McCain keeps getting reelected, and the primary went to Romney.  Da fuck?

I think Paul would have had a better showing if so many of his supporters weren't registered independents, therefore unable to vote yesterday.

We have a huge Mormon population here.  I think that really explains the Romney win.

I think McCain gets the retiree vote, and we have a lot of retirees.

If you would actually vote for Romney, take a big step back and literally FUCK YOUR OWN FACE!

Seriously, if it comes down to Obama or Romney, I'd just as soon vote Obama.  With him, I know exactly what I'm going to get(or not get.)  Romney?  That Manchurian Candidate big government RINO fuck is a total mystery.

I didn't vote romney in the primary, but if he's the nominee I'll vote for him in the general. if you think he'd be worse than obama then you might want to consider how extreme obama will be once he's not afraid of getting re-elected

Exactly!
At this point in time I think it's all we have.
I didn't vote for Mitt, but I knew going in that it was a losing cause.
If it ends up that he's the Republican nominee in the general election then, even though he's not really my man, I'll pull the lever for him - or whomever is not "Zero"!

Do you think they would report the predicted results if it was going against the MSM favorite?

At this point, who knows.  I feel we have more the illusion of choice than an actual choice in today's political arena.  The news networks spend months convincing people who the only viable candidate is based on what the party leaders want.  The fact that Romney is the front runner and didn't make the cut last time speaks volumes to me.  It is more about deals and wheels than it is about really letting the people choose.  Also there only seems to be a few differences in the parties these days and I don't really think they represent the people well.  If you talk to most people the deficit is a huge issue for them but our politicians are doing little to nothing to fix that.  They have cornered the market with their election rules and the people are left with a dwindling voice.  Too many people hold their nose and vote instead of voting how they really feel.  If the Republican party lost in a landslide on a regular basis I bet they would start running candidates that want to and would do something about the debt or the Independent or Libertarian party would start becoming main stream.

Do you really know what you will get with Obama and the dems in control for a 2nd term? and you prefer that to Romney?

Even if there is only a hair difference between the two I would take any term Romney over any term Obama. Even if all it would do is slow down the race to doomsday while switching drivers I will gladly take the extra time.

We all know he isnt our savior or our champion, he isnt even a good choice by a long shot, but we are out of good options. I didnt vote for him in the primary, but I will be voting for him if/when he is the candidate running against Obama. Ill take whatever time it buys me.

edited - removed "a first term Obama over a second term Obama and an" because although it was a example of potential lesser, it made me ill to re-read.

I don't understand why you people are registered as independents or libertarians, all of you should have registered Republican so you could help direct a viable vessel in the right direction, instead you are split off and in no position to make decision that will bring about results.

Example-

Do you think Ron Paul would have mattered as much had he ran as a libertarian or independent? He would have been much easier to ignore, he would have been in no big televised debate to even be heard.

If obummer is reelected say good bye to our gun rights as we know them just look at Chicago or DC he will  ban all hand guns and semi auto rifles.
Is that what you want. He must be defeated or we will be up the creek without a paddle.

I have been wondering this more and more.  On the one hand it is nice to be registered independent because they know I don't like the what the Republican party has become and who they usually put up.  On the other hand our party never gets exposure on the national level, we hardly ever get to pick our candidates, and when one comes along on the major platform we can't support them unless they get to the national election.   Like I said before I think Paul would have had a better showing in AZ if his supporters weren't mostly Independents.  But I also feel that by registering Republican it won't do anything to change the direction of the party.  I feel like at this point if enough people abandon the Republican party, or stop voting Republican they will change their course and head back to the values that they say they stand for.  Then again I could just be naive.

I feel that by supporting Ron Paul in the GOP and Tea party independents is the only way "we" can change the discussion. 4 years ago they tried to lock out Paul and the tea Party types, 2 years ago those same candidates picked up momentum in the main stream movements. This season they (major media) are again trying to lock out/ignore RP and the more libertarian politicians again, but some of the dynamic has already changed. some of the points ONLY Ron Paul was talking about in major media only 4 years ago is now part of the debate. Lots of this is timing, but some of it is his showing in past primaries....keep voting for the independents and they still will not win the election, but it WILL change the political discussion. I could be wrong, but i believe shaping the discussion is as important as winning it
