I got this email from the NRA and thought maybe some of us could help out as an Arfcom contingent.
This area gets trashed all the time by recreational shooters and this seems like an easy way to join the effort in cleaning this popular shooting spot up. The more people that show up the less work there is for everyone. Anyone in? ETA: Afterwards we could all grab some food and do a meet/greet. ETA2: AZHTF MEET & GREET right after the clean up, tentatively planned for 1:30pm at: El Encanto Dos Mexican Restaurant. Location: 6248 East Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek Email: "Arizona: Volunteers Needed to Help Clean the Table Mesa Recreation Area On March 10th, the Virtual Jeep Club of Arizona is sponsoring a clean-up of the Table Mesa Recreation Area, just north of Phoenix at I-17 and Table Mesa Road (exit 236). Table Mesa is a popular destination for recreationists and one of the most popular recreational shooting locations in the Phoenix metro area. Unfortunately not all recreationists who use Table Mesa pack out what they pack in so volunteers are periodically needed to help pick up trash. The clean-up will start at 8 a.m. and end sometime around 1 p.m. The Club is hoping to have 100 volunteers come out. The NRA encourages all shooters and hunters who use Table Mesa to help in this effort. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, a hat, gloves, and any food they would like to eat. If you have it, please wear your NRA hat or other clothing with NRA’s insignia to let people know you are a NRA member. The Club will be hosting a raffle with prizes that were donated for this event. People can contact the BLM Park Ranger Jason Blomberg with any questions, at [email protected] or 623-580-5572" |

I am thinking about putting in 2 hours, arriving and starting clean up at 11am, then leaving at 1pm to meet up for chow.
Hopefully they'll have a roll off dumpster and some trash bags already. I'm not filling my pov with garbage. Raged, have you got a couple rakes that can be used to round up shells? or should I buy myself a rake? Dos sounds like as good a place as any to chill at after and savor some margarita-y goodness... |

I do have a couple rakes and shovels, etc. Even a magnet "broom" for the steel stuff. |

Guys, I'm out. Sorry! I had a huge project to put together this week at work and had to give up "at home" time. The wife demands I work around the house this weekend.
Don't believe me? Ask LukeDuke. He works for me and can vouch. I sent the owner of the company and her husband to Edgewood and Clovis, NM today to deliver stuff for the project. |

We will surely need to make a thread out of the build tomorow! |
