"SB 1077 was scheduled for a hearing in the Senate National Resources and Transportation Committee on Monday, January 23, 2012. This bill would specifically exempt from the state lands trespass statute the "lawful possession or discharge of a firearm while hunting, while target shooting, in self-defense or in defense of another." Am I reading this right? If this pases we will be able to shoot on state land? |

Yes and no. I am a fan of freedom and not a fan of silly laws. That being said, look at how people treat the land they are already given to shoot on - like a dump site. I enjoy being able to hunt on State Land and not running across "shooting spots" that are all trashed thanks to "recreational" shooters. I hope it passes due to the nature of the bill, I just hope to not find State Land getting trashed in the future. |

More freedom now might lead to complete closures in the future do to carelessness and neglect. We'll see... |

If/when this bill passes, idiots will go out to the desert, bump fire into a TV or a washing machine, then promptly blow it up with tannerite and leave trash all over the fucking place. Looking forward to more "freedom" |

Easy fix. Have a couple of officers check for people who litter from time to time and issue a ticket 3-4 times a month. The word spreads that if you litter you get a ticket and the amount of littering decreases. That or we can just contact Joe Arpaio and have him send some chain gangs out to some of the shooting spots for a clean up once a month. He will take care of it he is a great Sheriff. |

Sent my response. |

Quoted: According to my dad, the state land around Florence Junction is getting trashed by tannerite. Fence posts, cacti and the like are all getting blown up, likely by the inbred meth abusing hicks from Apache Junction. ![]() yep. I pack out trash and bits and pieces every time I go out there. There are a few pieces of furniture all shot up out there I would take too if I had a truck. |

They (law enforcement) literally don't care. I used to go to Table Mesa all the time. Watched people bring out all kinds of shit. Got sick of it and started taking pictures of people dumping shit. License plates, faces, etc, I wasn't shy about it either. Contacted BLM and tried to give them the evidence. They weren't interested. I think they'd rather have the places trashed so they can justify closing down the shooting spots. They could make it slow to a trickle if they wanted to. They don't. |

When I shoot in the desert I make sure to bring more trash out than I bring in. Earlier this month some friends and I shot up a TV at redington pass, we put it on a tarp to catch the pieces and picked up every last bit of it when we left. We also took several pieces of a metal desk, a laptop, and a scanner/printer.
This bill would be really nice, I live a lot closer to State trust land than I do BLM land. |
