Result of a failure to fire and a really, really stuck shell. I just wanted some sympathy, cause my friends don't have any idea what a buffer tube even is.
And I can take all the other comments too. Feel free to light me up.

What brand is that? UTG?

And I'm guessing you decided to pound the stock into the ground while pulling the charging handle with the stock fully extended?

No, she was closed , just factory installed. Didn't bother to check, but they could have rotated it four to five more times. It just crumpled on the threads.

Next time use a screw driver between the bolt and the upper to get it open.

Ouch. Pick up a Magpul UBR stock and buffer tube if you can afford it. And for crying out loud move that scope up on the rails/offset mount.  NTCH for the best control of your rifle.

That sucks man.. I was watching someone attempting the beat gun on ground method and was wondering how often something like this happens..

At least you found a weak link in your setup to replace before the zombie attack.

Damn that sucks. At least it is just the tube and nothing significant.

OP,

You went about this story all wrong... it should have been something about repelling angry hoards and running out of ammo and using your AR as a club, or rescuing orphans from a burning building. Yeah, that's it, and you used you AR to lift a burning beam off of a poor orphan child, resulting in the damage to the receiver extension.

Not this crap about a FTF and banging your rifle on the ground to clear it.

Agreed.

Story quality FAIL.

I get better stuff from GD. Come on Diggs, I expected more from you.

Collapsible stock. You're doing it wrong.

They say get a firm cheek-weld on your stock...but that's what happens when it's too firm.
