The a/c in my Xterra took a dump earlier in the year, and i've been putting it off. I took it to the stealership and they said the compressor has seized up, the hoses are leaking and i need a new belt. But they will fix it of the low low price of $1500. Can you guys recommend me a mechanic or advice to get this fixed.

FYI ,if you just replace the compressor evacuate, and recharge it won't last. to do it right you will need to replace the condensor, dryer, and oriface tube also . Some say you can flush out the condensor, but the passages are so small you never get out all the debris. a new condensor is only $100.00 at 1800 radiator . You can get a whole kit  comp, dryer, oriface tube, condensor freon, and oil with a lifetime warrantee for around $400.00 . A good ac tec with the propper tools and knowlage should not charge more than $200.00 labor to install the kit and get you ice cold air . If you want a Denso compressor and kit try AApak at McDowell and 19 ave ,the Denso comp may be $25.00 more than the generic comp. All new not rebuilt . good luck and stay cool . If you wait till it gets cold November  you may get the labor cheaper . hoses and belt are extra if needed.

give me a call between 8-5 The mechanic at our shop does side work. Probably wont charge very much for something that easy and we have a real a/c charging system at the shop so you can get it done right.

Or you can replace all the shit and just pay to charge your system  at our shop if your into doing your own labor.  He would probably do that pretty cheap.

Also if you get me a parts list and all the info I need I can probably get your parts a lot cheaper than you can.
