My one son goes over to the eye care center to get some contact lenses and a woman at least in her 70s helps him get what he needs and after talking for a while she rings him up and we pay the bill. At that point this soft spoken "grandmother" points to my son's gun and asks what gun is that? He replies it's a Glock 20, without missing a beat she replies "I have a Glock 17 and an M&P 9mm, the Glock is a lot easier to disassemble and clean but I can shoot the Smith and Wesson better". She then gives us a wink and says "with the way the country is going you never know when you may need to protect yourself." My son thanked her, I was left a bit speechless. |

Prescott College is hippie-central, but we also have lots of CA and East Coast transplants in Prescott. Mostly libs. My office has a few of each. All tree-huggers. We're still a big-time red county, but it is slowly changing.  |

Go down Gurley, near Granite Creek around the Dinner Bell, and walk around a bit. Some dreadlocked fuckwit will comment on it, I assure you. They loved hanging out there and the coffee shop across the road. I lived just about downtown, on S. Granite for near seven years. Never had a positive comment about open carry, and about once a week some delicate soul would loudly comment about my 1911 in an old SD Myres holster, and how it had apparently soiled their karma or some shit. I finally got sick of the lack of work and crappy pay and moved back to Phoenix. Prescott would be a nicer place if they'd quit trying to be the next Sedona. |

Yeah, this. Had a co-worker get huffy because he saw my 1911 on the seat of my truck, in a holster,barely peeking out from under my coat. It was in a public parking lot, at the airport. There were marks on the window from his greasy schnozz and forehead on the side glass. Fuck that attitude. Saw too much of it coming into that area. |
