MTB on the East side, mostly Hawes trail. I am a novice for sure, and 3 or 4 miles on a decent trail usually whips my ass.

When I rode, the shootout always scared me.  Then again I never liked riding in packs even though I raced for a few years.

MTB is effin nuts if you ask me.  I've never failed so miserably or crashed so much in one outing than when I try it.

And big gorilla roadies are a sight for sore eyes to a lot of us on a windy day.  You make great pace line leaders.

Roadie in far E. Valley.  Gave up MTB after doc said no more (and having the nerves in my back nuked to kill the pain).

Spend a lot of time around the Superstitions, Usery Pass, etc.

I used to MTB 3-4 times a week at mostly South Mountain since I used to work right by there and sometimes Squaw Peak and McDowell around 6 years ago.  My 3 kids take up most of my time now a days but I plan to dust off the Intense Spider and get back into shape soon.  I really miss biking and being thinner and in shape.  It would definitely help with 3 gunning.

MTB, Far east valley.  But most of my time lately is on-road on the MTB, I've been riding it downtown to work.

Thats part of the reason I ended up getting into riding. A buddy of mine was a daily rider back about 15 years ago and we got to talking about how after wife and kids he quit and got fat. I dont wanna be that guy :P Hes a better climber than me right now but I always catch (and pass) him on the downhill (on my hardtail).

Its good to know us big guys have a use on road. Id gladly take windsheer for any of you guys!

Yeah, out of necessity. If you see a blond guy with a trumpet  and/or a book bag on his way to and from ASU, that's me.

With the amount of snowbirds in AZ anyone who rides a bike on the side of any road is crazy, but Mt. lemon... a F'ing moron. Good luck, AZHONKY

I know the roadies are the minority here, but these are almost ready to order if anyone's interested.  They're race-cut, so they are very form-fitting.

Very Nice.  Do I get double internet points if I win the Shootout wearing one?  Seriously though, very nice.

Yes you will, but only if you are first up the hill on the way out AND win the sprint on the way back into town.

Any of you planning on doing the Casa Grande Century on Sunday?
PMBCAZ Casa Grande Century
I am only doing the metric because I fought bronchitis for most of December and just don't have the form to hammer out 100mi at 20mph pace (though I will be looking for a group that does 62mi at around that pace).

I wish I'd known about that sooner... I'll have to go next year since the schedule is already set for me this Sunday.
