What would you guys do if you came across some, can you legally detain them until Law enforcement arrives or can you only pull a Paul Blart Mall cop and observe and report????????????????
Who is down for a border offroad/camping trip?

By myself, nothing. With family, again nothing. With a suitably trained fire team or squad, citizens arrest. Of course, unless I was sitting on the border, and observed an unlawful crossing, proving that I had a reasonable suspicion to lawfully detain would be difficult. I go in to the desert armed not to confront but to unass myself from a dangerous situation. I'm not going to pick a fight without intel into the enemies strength, equipment and makeup. Uncle Sam spent too much money teaching me how to survive, and not be a frickin martyr. I was born in Arizona, I'm from the Wallace & Ladmo era, and as much as I'd like to really fuck up those that trespass on my soil and destroy my desert, I'd just as soon hang around to testify at their trial.
Of course, if the assholes are foolish enough to start something, I will make a good showing of myself. |

when we interceded we simply told them to sit down and not speak. They were free to go at anytime and some did. we didn't touch them, brandish guns, etc.. that can be construed as kidnapping or detaining against their will. asking them to sit down does not. 2nd poster: I'm with you. a fire team is necessary now. I live 3 miles from the border. |

Maybe if someone placed an anonymous call to Janet Reno and said they saw white militia men on Federal land training with automatic weapons, sbrs, explosives,etc., she could get with Napolitano and stage a raid to quell the insurrection. Oh, and say there are children involved.

| It's hard to say what you'll actually do until you're in a situation where you have to make the decision. I actually *have* come across illegals before, in a friend's neighborhood. We noticed lots of commotion outside one night after we'd had a few beers, and we come out front to find his neighborhood flooded with red and blue lights. Curious, we grabbed our handguns and went for a walk (yes, stupid idea after you've been drinkin... but we were drinkin, ha). We found an officer standing on a corner and asked him what was up. He told us there were a bunch of suspected illegals on the loose and they were looking for them. We figured we'd best just stay out of the way so we walked back to the house. Almost two hours later, I headed out to my truck to go home. When I started my truck and the lights came on, lo and behold there were a bunch of glimmering eyes peeking out from under a trailer across the street staring back at me. All I did was keep my Kahr handy and called the cops on my cell. My buddy and I stayed there and watched 'em until the first patrol cars pulled up, but we never showed a gun or approached them or anything. They didn't try running again, and the cops pulled four of them out from under a 20-something foot trailer in some guy's front yard. |

I run across illegals a lot. I first make sure my family are safe. Then we continue what we were doing. But, I note their location, count them, and then call border patrol or park ranger, depending on where I am.
I never try to detain them; as this may bring legal actions against me. If someone knows how to do a citizen's arrest on an illegal, please post it here. I think in Arizona the level of crime has to be higher than just being illegal in order for a citizen to make a citizen's arrest. Please correct me if I am wrong. Even when an illegal is trespassing on my property and tearing down one of my fences, all I do is call the proper authorities. My wife and I joke all the time about how illegals and cattle have more rights in our country than we do! |

Before i deployed to the shithole where I'm at now, i attempted to go to big 5 on 12st and bell next to the walmart to buy some running shoes for my next deployment. As i was pulling into the parking lot i notice about 20 illegal immigrants all staring at me and i didnt feel to safe about leaving my car there. The staring got to me and im kind of a hot head and i do conceal carry every where i go, so i pointed at them and told them to quit staring at me. One of them hopped off the wall and starting walking towards me like he was planning on assaulting me.
Now a this point i could have drew my weapon and fired with out having to worry about legal backlash, 13 or 14 illegals vs. 1 citizen trying to buy shoes for his deployment thats a no brainer. But i didnt want to deal with courts and newspapers and i didnt want it endangering my chance of deployment because i was leaving a few days later, so i did the smart thing i showed them i had a firearm without brandishing i just lifted my shirt a little and tapped the grip then i got in my car and drove to the walmart, while i was in the walmart parking lot in my car i called the police department and told them what had happened that i was just trying to buy some shoes when 13 or 4 illegals all approached me in a threatening manner forcing me to have to leave the establishment, i told them why i was there to buy the shoes and the lady's voice was instantly mad that they were trying to attack me when im about to leave on a deployment, she told me she would have a squad car out there ASAP. I didnt stick around to see what happened because i was in a big rush i was about to deploy and i wanted to go home and spend time with family. But sometimes i do wish i would have handled it a little more violently. |
