Hi I was wondering if anybody knew of a gunsmith in the Tempe/Mesa area
that does trigger work on revolvers? Thanks! |

S&W?
What type of work? If you are looking to get a S&W trigger smoothed-out......Ultimate Accessories (main/power approx) did that on a "as you wait" basis (non-ffl holder). Of course this is going back a few years, but he would do it for the armed security class for model 64's etc for a nominal fee. He never did mine, but I did feel a before and after and there was a noticeable difference. |

Nelson Ford is the man And then he takes your gun and when you ask him six months later how it is coming he tells you he will do it when the hell he wants to do it. Never again. Much better in town like these two guys. They will also treat you better. http://www.manta.com/c/mmcx37n/magnum-precision-gunsmithing http://www.glenncustom.com/ |

I'd imagine you can find plenty of guys that do trigger work. Finding one that does good trigger work is a bit more difficult! Nelson Ford at 32nd and Shea is one of the very best. Call him. 602-992-0050 P.S. DO NOT use the word 'short' when speaking to him. And why would that be |
| I've had Ford do work on several pistols (all 1911s), all with favorable results. In each case he used all of the time he told me ahead of time it was going to take. On the last job, I called him on the due date and he was apologetic for not having it finished and had the pistol done in 24 hours. |

Nelson has a 'high-overhead' kind of life. His health depends on turning guns over.
No reason he would sit on a gun for an extended period unless the situation warranted it. Examples would be waiting on parts or dealing with a jerk customer. He's been at the same location for 30 years. Can any of the 'other' guys even come close? He is a character, but he is that good that he can be. Extreme skill can foster a certain arrogance. Think cable tv's show 'House'. In this case I find it quite acceptable. |

I have Ruger LCR I'd be hesitant to have someone work on an LCR trigger unless they already had experience on this particular gun... its geometry is a little different than the norm, and so for a lot of gunsmiths, your pistol would be a learning experience. |
