Recently passing both Tech and General last week, I was curious who the other AZ Arfcom hams are in the state?  I know I've spoken to one arfcommer on simplex over in AJ once so far.  Wondering who else is out there and if any of you ever talk on any simplex freqs?  If not, I thought we might coordinate

Is there a net that you guys talk on, or just via simplex?  I'm in Chandler - so if anybody is nearby and capable of hitting on simplex, let me know

As you know, myself and 3 other hams (not ARFCOMMERS) use 144.900 as our simplex freq. I think there is another bunch of guys on 147.555, but I don't know if any of them are ARFCOMMERS. There is another group on 146.52 but again, I don't know their ARF status.

Yup I've got 144.9 stored just in case there's a zombie invasion
Just curious if there's more hiding out there.

Our little group is on about 7:30am on the drive to work, then again at 5 pm on the ride home. We can't hear into the valley very well until we get over Usery Pass at about 5:15 or so.

Ahh maybe I'll tune in tomorrow morning - I'm up early as I work East coast hours and am usually kind of bored on Monday morning around that time

You missed all the fun by about 16 years!  LOL  I used to belong to a group on 146.54 and 446.54 back in the mid-90s and we had a lot of fun.  By the time the Internet and broadband became affordable, 2 meters and 440 pretty much died here.  I'd say by 1999, I was completely out of the hobby with the exception of a couple HTs for camping trips and what not.  It was a fun time in some ways early on.  We were hated so bad by the repeater crowd (ARA) that we were jammed on several occasions.  We ran base antennas (I ran what was similar to the Diamond X510NA) and even had amps, so we could talk simplex to people all over the valley, and sometimes outside the valley.  We didn't need repeaters and hated their rules.  Plus, we were a little unruly.  We would ID all at the same time!  Imagine 20 to 30 people all giving their ID like that  Yeah, they hated us.  Oh well, it was a fun time and we actually talked about enjoyable subjects.
