| Anybody here had dealings with them? Curious as to the result of those dealings. |
|
I have purchased a few small things here and there from them, but I live right down the street and can just walk in.
I hate to say it, but I don't purchase much from them simply because after taxes it ends up costing more than if I bought it online and paid for shipping. It's not their fault, just paying AZ sales tax and the city sales tax sucks. But for small stuff I try and support the local shops. I did tansfer a can there and everything worked out OK, there was a snafu with the paperwork, but they fixed it and it didn't make me wait too much longer. |
| I've bought a few parts from them. I've also been in there and chatted with them a few times.... you know.... playing with their toys. They have always been really friendly and willing to help. A few friends of mine have delt with them more than I have, and they seem to like them just fine. |

Quoted: Quoted: I've found them to be less than honest and not as knowledgeable as they claim to be. A friend had the same experience. Between his experience and one of their blog postings that rubbed me the wrong way, I'll choose to purchase elsewhere. Does BWA have its own blog/forum or were they posting on some place like AZS? |

It is extremely rare that there will be a complete lack of douchery at any gunshop. I traveled all over the nation and would spend my spare time hitting up gun stores. It is the same everywhere. You almost have to consider it part of the game if you want to be in the hobby. Just look for good quality and a good price/deal and ignore the bs, or at least get some good anecdotes to post in the gun shop bashing threads of GD. |

A bit off topic but related to the previous post...
I miss Mandell's in Old Town Scottsdale. The guys there were pretty fun. Even when I wasn't of buying age, they'd feed me all the information I asked for. Some russian guy that worked there bet me that he could disassemble and reassemble any gun in the store blind folded. I don't remember what I picked, but I lost $5. Oh well... they were fun. btw....didn't Black Weapons Armory used to be on the Industry page? |
