Could someone give me a rough idea what the fees would be to do the following:

Replace the new stock with new UBR stock.
Replace plastic handguard with freefloat handguard (which involves removing front sight)

I don't have the tools, but not really wanting to buy them.

I am guessing this would take less than an hour to do.

all you need is a good screw driver it would be far cheeper to get a good set at lowes home depot or ace hardware and do it your self

How does the screwdriver take care of the need for armorors wrench, torque wrench, and removing/installing pins?

Thats what I was thinking. In fact, where do you even use a screwdriver on an AR15? None of mine have a slotted or phillips head screw anywhere on them.

Oh wait...... you could use 2 screwdrivers at the same time to remove the plastic handguard!

If you have all the parts, drop by the shop and we'll do it for a 12 pack of diet coke and $20.00 :-)

Normal shop rates are like $50-$65 an hour and your looking at about 45 min of work (if there isn't anything unforeseen). The work load and how fast you want it done will also affect the price.

Holy crap you actually pay people for that kind of work??

Just offer to exchange beer for services here in the hometown forums and find someone close to you.  To swap a carbine stock/tube  should only cost a 6 pack* while a floating handguard job should run an additional 12 pack.

Whereabouts are you located?

Removing the pistol grip MAY require a screw driver or an allen wrench
