Hi guys, I've been a member here for a little bit, but just moved to Tucson.

I'm applying for the border patrol, and testing with them at the end of January.  It supposedly takes about five months to get hired on with them, but I need to find a job for at least that amount of time.  Any ideas or suggestions of decent work in the area?

eta:  My background and schooling is in Aviation.  I was working for an airline in Seattle, but I got laid off earlier this month, and we decided to move back down to AZ closer to my wife's family here in town.

And, any good gun shops in Tucson?

Try the Tucson Airport (TIA) and nearby aviation companies for some possible temp work. There is also Ryan Field and the Marana Airport in Avra Valley just west of Tucson that might be worth checking out.

As far as gun stores in Tucson, nothing jumps out as being real good, but go ahead and check out Murphy's, Diamondback and 2nd Amendment to get an idea of who carries what.

Welcome btw!

Good luck with the BP.  Don't know about the avi industry other than what has been stated.  As for shops, if you are looking for transfers chech out Pima guns across the street from 2nd ammendment on Pima.  Welcome to Tucson.

Do you have your A&P? Or military training. Check out Evergreen out at Pinal Air Park. I hear it aint the greatest place to work but it is better than un-employment. If you have military background with helicopter experience check out LSI as well.

Marksman is an indoor range on 29th, close to the air base.  I have been a member for years.  I drive by it twice a day, so it is not out of my way to stop and bust some caps.

Depending on your specialty, go to Raytheon's website and see if anything is a good fit for you.  TAke a look at Arizona Canning too.
