| I was wondering if anyone knew a good public place to shoot at North of Carefree. I remember going out to the desert a few years ago but forgot the location. It was really close to Carefree. I'm not looking to go to a range, but a open public area, thanks. |

immediately north of carefree is the Tonto National forest, it is infested with quad riders and therefore recreational shooting (but not shooting as part of hunting) is banned in the portions of the forest near the population. I think the ban extends to the 2 lakes and 7 springs camp ground but check the Tonto NF website to be sure Ben Avery is just 10 miles west. Poole |
