To transfer your CCW.....

1. Once you have determined that you are qualified to obtain a concealed weapon permit, locate an organization that provides an approved CCW training course. The course is a minimum of 8 hours in length and is taught by a CWPU approved instructor. You must qualify with a handgun firing live ammunition.

2. Upon completion of the course, the instructor will provide you with an application, fingerprint card and a return envelope. Ensure that the instructor certifies the training on the application to include the Training Program Number, the Training Instructor Number and the Training Organization Number. An organizational stamp or seal mustl also be affixed.

3. You must be fingerprinted utilizing an "Applicant" fingerprint card provided by the instructor. The organization may offer fingerprinting services or you may be required to locate a provider. Some police agencies provide this service for a small fee (DPS does not). Call your local agencies for inquiries. Regardless of who completes the fingerprint card, the prints must be clear and distinct. Do not place tape over the top of the prints!

4. Using the return envelope provided, send the completed application, fingerprint card, and the appropriate fee in the form of a money order, cashier's or certified check (payable to the AZ DPS) to the CWPU. For a current list of fees click on "Fee Schedule" located at the top left portion of this page.

Note: Persons who were born outside of the United States or one of its territories must send a copy of proof of citizenship or alien status. Any of the following documents are acceptable:

* Certificate of Naturalization
* Resident Alien Card
* Record of Birth Abroad
* Record of Birth to Armed Forces Personnel
* US Passport

5. Applications with errors or containing incomplete or disqualifying information will be returned for correction or denial. *Note: fees are non-refundable.

6. Allow 65 days for processing your application and delivery of your permit. Please do not call DPS regarding the status of your application. If you have not received your permit or notification regarding your application after this time frame contact our staff.

7. Once you have received your permit, inspect it for errors. If you find an error, return the permit along with a completed copy of the CWPU "Change, Error or Non-Receipt of Permit Form" available under downloadable forms on this web page.

Note:
* All changes of address and phone numbers must be reported in writing to the CWPU within 10 days of the change. Utilize the 'Change, Error or Non-Receipt of Permit Form' available under downloadable forms on this web page. Failure to do so can result in the suspension of your permit.

* All training for an AZ CCW permit MUST be conducted within the borders of the state of Arizona.

If you are a resident of AZ your WA permit is not valid here FYI. In order to CCW in AZ as a AZ resident you are required to have an AZ CCW permit. You need to do as the instructions above say and take a class/ pay the fee.

Sorry, AZ wants their pound of flesh(payment)

you have to get an AZ permit same as anyone else. Good news is that between AZ and Washington you probably have a bunch of states.

Damn, moving is expensive.  So how much can us poor WA residents expect to pay for the AZ CCW class?

I'm in North Phoenix, not sure where the original poster is from.  I checked Scottsdale Gun Club and they're $99.  I'll have to shop around a bit.

Correct. Az class is $40, Utah is $50. Plus his price includes the fingerprint cards. The only other fee you will incur is the DPS fee of $65 you have to remit with your paperwork and print cards.
