I am looking for someone to give me a hand putting a rail on one of my AR's.  I had a Bushy with a 7" YHM POS rail and am having the damnedest time getting the barrel nut off.  I bought the special YHM wrench, and ened up breaking off 2 of the 3 teeth while trying to losen it.  That son of a gun is on there tight!

I do not have an AR upper block, and was thinking that might help.  So, I was wondering if any of you who live in the east valley, would be willing to give a sucker a hand?

heat it up, use a hot air gun or a propane torch taking care not to over heat, you want it up to 300-400 degrees.

If it is that tight I would be clamping the barrel in blocks in the vise, not the receiver.

meh, take it to an armorer or gunsmith to have 'em take it off.  They break it = they fix it.

I think you'll get it if you can find someone with a vice, good action bloc (not mag well) and an armorers wrench.  The teeth on the armorers wrench will handle much more torque than the three prongs on the YHM forearm installation tool.

All good advice.  The YHM wrench is worthless for stuck-on barrel nuts.  I had the same problem when 87GN helped me with my upper.  We had to heat it up with a heatgun, and it still took the both of us yanking on a cheaterbar

I don't have a block, but I'm in Mesa and I do have a pretty solid feeling Bushy wrench. If that can help, let me know.

heat may help...   breaker or cheater bar probably won't help, if it's that tight...    use standard barrel nut wrench...   secure reciever..   use dead wieght hammer, and give it a hit...   if I gotta explain it, then you need to take it to a gunsmith...
