I moved to Colorado from Tucson in '84, was there in '92 & had Jensen's on Pima handle the transfer for the guns I inherited when my father passed away. I was just in Tucson this weekend and went by for a visit only to see a different business in the location on Pima. The question-can someone fill me in on what happened to Bob Jensen and his store? One guy at the new store mentioned him selling it to his kids, poorly run business and ATF shutting it down! Any particulars? BTW, I also used to do a lot of business with Murphy and saw he's still around. Of course I also belonged to the Tucson Rod & Gun Club near Sabino Canyon way back then. |

Marksman also bought the other location that Jensen's had (Jensen's West) on Prince and Flowing Wells. It took them some months to get the shop cleaned up and running. It's a good range with the right price, but their inventory is pretty lackluster. They have very few rifles and not that many handguns (especially considering how much case space they have). 2nd Amendment is a decent store, especially for rifles. However, I found their prices to be a pretty darn high. When I questioned them about their prices (glocks being 625 new as opposed to 500 at other stores) they just shrugged and said oh well. Not even a thought given to try and reconcile the disparity. |

El Ron, thank you very much for the link. I didn't even think to check the local papers. I too have many stories to remember what was once the best gun shop I ever set foot in. I still have the S&W 686 (no dash) my dad bought when they first came out including the box, tools, all docs, even his original receipt. Be safe, Doc. |
