| Saturday, The wife and I were driving up Ironwood headed north and all of the sudden a silver nissan altima goes past us. Well then we noticed that practically glued to their rear bumper was a game and fish truck. That nissan moved several times and even sped up a couple of times before the game and fish truck lit them up and turned on the siren. It took a long time for the nissan to pull over (mainly since the road shoulder is very steep) But the game and fish guy finally got them pulled over. I couldnt think for the life of me why that happened. Maybe one of you guys could enlighten me? ----Archangel |

G&F officers are POST certified LE.....all the same powers as any other police officer in AZ. Although they "specialize" in G&F laws, they are "obligated" to act on anything they see that could pose a threat to the public. Most often, they let silly shit go on the street...but not always. Sooo, he very well have just been seeing a STUPID FUCK driver that "needed" some enlightenment. |
Sounds about right. Funny thing about that is that we drove right past a pinal county sheriff deputy sitting on the side of the road so maybe he was not too far behind. I never really looked. Yeah I knew that G&F are POST certified. I just thought that for some reason that they did their thing and let the other agencies do theirs. Not that I mind at all. Now that Ironwood is open to four lanes for most of the way, that road has already turned into the autobahn most of the time where some of the most careless people seem to want to drive. IMHO I think that they need to watch that road like hawks. The damn road isnt even finished yet and there was a roll over and another accident not too long ago.

| POST certified stands for Police Officer Standards Training I believe and LE is Law Enforcement. So If you hear the term AZPOST certified, that means that the person has to have passed the course for POST certification in Arizona. Basically that means that they have attended the state police academy like any other recruit. |
I've been to a few Phoenix Regional graduation ceremonies. I think every one I attended had a G&F officer in it. |
