Way back in the day I went in there and bought a "fixer-upper" gun. He was an asshole to me the whole time I was in there and I have NEVER gone back in. He also fucked over a good dude who he hired in as a smith... I wouldn't recomend spending a dime in there...

He doesn't do any of the actual work. And as far as his attitude, well...  I have seen better.  I am surprised he is still in business.

I went into his shop about 8 years ago, and the guy was a complete jerk to me.  I've never gone back.

That guy is a total fucking piece of shit arrogant dickhead.

Sorry to beat around the bush. But that's the best way to describe the guy. Fuck Guns etc.
If I want to get treated like shit I'll just stay home.

I will never do business there again. Not only do I get treated horribly there, they caused my bank account to be over drafted.

I went in and bought some patches to clean my guns. the total came to 18 dollars. Not a big deal. 10 days later I get another charge from the same amount there. Well I happened to be low on cash and that extra 18 dollar charge sent my bank account negative reasulting in another 58 dollars in overdraft fee's. Im still trying to get my money back and get the overdraft fee's taken off. That was abotu 3 months ago. I will never go back there.

Got a gift certificate for Christmas and used it to order a Marlin 1894C .357 magnum on 12/26/06.  Nearly 7 weeks later and the gun has still not arrived.  At least 3 other shops in the valley have them in stock.  Not impressed and do not plan to do any more business there.

Apparently I caught them on a good day.....

I had a 1911 with a "rattle" in it when the Grip Safety was pressed. He diagnosed the problem, repaired it, and had it back to me in just a few days. I did not notice any attitude problem from any one i worked with there.

Obviously from the responses in this thread, my experience is not the norm.......

If we where in the middle of WWIII and he had the last 100 rounds of ammo I still would NOT go back to his shop!!! A few years ago I went into his shop and asked him to swap a barrel link for me and he said " No Problem". I asked for a quote and he said "No more than $25 or $30 and it can be ready in 3 days" I went back in 3 days and it still wasn't done! It took him 10 days and he charged me over $125. When I asked what happened to the estimate and time line he said "Stuff happens and it took a little longer than I expected" I paid the bill but will NEVER go back into his shop. Not if you paid me, Not if he was giving away FREE cases of 7.62X39mm ammo and Not even if my life depended on it. He is a scum sucking asshole! Run Away Far and Fast!!!!

*UPDATE* I just re-read my post to see if I stated my thoughtS clearly about Guns Etc....... I think I have understated my true feelings....... Please do not make the same mistake that I did.

I have a Springy loaded that I want to have a mag well put on/blended, a new Kart barrel, replace all the MIM parts and given a reliability treatment.
Then have the Smith send it to Walter Birdsong for Black T, then re-assemble.

I'm not too keen on Yost/Bonitz time frame though.

Oooooh, so you want something like this?

Perhaps one of these guys can chime in.  I think there's a place called Big Bore Customs off of the 51 and 32nd st maybe?  I believe they're well thought of.

Up until about 8 months ago I lived about 3 miles from Big Bore, its on Bell road a little ways west of Cave Creek. Gordon does beautiful work on 1911's and is a nice guy. Also a good place to order guns off the Davidsons web site thru.

I personaly wouldn't trust ROBAR to work on a SKS... Those guys could screw-up a glass of water. I have seen VERY expensive gun get FUBAR in that shop and they turn around and blame it on the person who sent it .... "It was like that when it got here" ....
