Bought an Eotech sight from the sars show and mounted it on my bushy M4. Went out today to try it out. It was fantastic!!! I've tried other tactical scopes on it but they just didn't seem to work out the way I had hoped. This works out perfect.

Just a suggestion (FWIW).
Take that riser off to lower the sight, and mount a back up rear iron sight.
If your EOThingy quits working you can flip up the rear sight and aim right through the window.

Get rid of the riser even without a backup sight you'll never have a consistant cheek weld with the riser unless you put a cheek pad on the stock.

I have to wait till Jan. to get both the front and rear flip up sights, then I can remove the riser. Otherwise the front sight gets in my way. Other than that the eotech sight works great. It's different being able to keep both eyes open. I'm used to keeping one eye closed to look through the scope.

That's better. Next time you go to the range, at 25 yards leave the scope turned off and try using the big window and the front sight and see where you hit. Then if the scope fails it will still work up close and personal.

what do I need besides the unit to install one, and how hard is it to install and sight in?

depends on which one you get. some use one allen screw, some use two twist levers. sighting in depends on your experience.
