It is perfectly legal to ship a firearm to another person in state. You can mail a long gun through the Post Office but a handgun has to go through a carrier using next day or two day shipping. Only FFL dealers can mail a handgun through the Post Office. A copy of the buyers drivers license is not required but it is not a bad idea to have for your records. Phessor
