Any of you guys hear about the Glockmeister indictment? Ben Paz is apparently in deep doo doo for selling some foreign national from Switzerland a bunch of Glock pistols. The dude got "popped" when his checked luggage was inspected as he was attempting to return to Switzerland from Michigan, I believe. He is being charged with Title 18 violations since the firearms entered interstate commerce, and he was not a citizen of Michigan where he made the weapons purchases. I read Both endictments, and they are pretty scathing. The ATF busted the Foreign guy who apparently was hauling these weapons home to sell on his website for hefty profits. This topic got CANNED on the "other site" for some reason.

By other site, I suspect you are refering to GlockTalk. I've read the indictments, but I've also read someone has talked to Ben Paz afterwards, and Paz said it's some misunderstanding, and he is still in business. I don't know what to make of it. I'll wait for a lot more info before I make any judgements. Jay |

Why would it be Ben's fault what some fwit does with the gun if he legitimately sold them to him? I know logic and reason don't apply to batf. Hope it works out OK for Ben. What happened to TopGlock? I heard they had their FFL suspended and can not directly sell to the public. |
Don't know about that, but I heard he would only to basic accessory installations.
Actually the weird part is that people are going out of their way to keep this hush hush.  I wouldn't have brought it up at all had I not read the endictments with my own eyes. I'm not one to spread unsubstantiated shit around. |
The problem is how do you legitimately sell to someone who isn't an American citizen OR a resident of the state in which the sale occurs? Maybe the guy had fake credentials...

IB posted it on Azshooting, then over at GT and now it's here. Seems to me like Eric at GT put the lid on the rumor mongering, but that's a far cry from trying to hush it up.
Granted, but an indictment in itself is nothing more than a claim by authorities that someone did something wrong. Not until it's proven in court is it substantiated. Personally it doesn't bother me at all that a link to the public documents was posted, why should it, it's public information. But what does bother me is that someone, and I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, would do it for some hidden reason. like to wreck whatever busness Ben has left. Now if he's really a crook and he's found guilty in court, then his business will be over and that's fine. Also, some of the rumors have been way over the top and I don't blame any forum moderator for putting a lid on it. |

MJ, I'm not doubting your word, but I find it hard to believe that they would arbitrarily establish a hierarchy. If true, that's sad, after what has been preached about "openess", equal access, etc. Tell me it ain't so, JTB. |

Maybe "senior" member was the wrong terminology. The "Officer's" Forum was made so that topics could be brought up that outside prying eyes could not get to. The "Dumping Brass" forum only requires a registration to get into and is technically not very secure. The Officer's Forum is like a usergroup, you just have to ask and be given permission to access. I'm sure anyone on the level would be allowed in. I think CarbineReloaded handles requests. I doubt anyone with access feels more entitled than someone who just has't asked yet. |

Never interefere with somthing you THINK is free money, but slanders others. Eric is the biggest pice of illegal garbage to ever exist on the Internet, and he'll be going down with his biased opinions and lies soon. Hopefully the jail time will find him with a female name; but regardless, he and his "business" constituents will face the music. If you believe anything from his lips you're more than a fool than you can believe. |

I'll elaborate when legally able to do so. Sorry I can't until then, but I... Can't, LOL. For all I know, nothing will come out of it and I will have accused an innocent man. That is NOT something I ever want to do. Eric has done nothing until charged, as far as I am concerned. The evidence points elsewhere, but the legalities of it are up to the law, not me. Nothing formal has been charged yet (that I know of), and I honestly hope the man is innocent of the evidence I recieved. Personally, I can't stand him and think he's a hypocrite with a deception of a web site. But that is ME feeling that way. I have been asked to be a witness, nothing more, and nothing less. And I was forced to sign a confedientaility statement, which I did agree to. I harbor no ill feeling for Eric or the others involved, but I am all about hitting criminals where it hurts. If he did as accused, I hope his butt serves as an example of what NOT to do while he does his time. BTDT, as a person of low moral character in my own past. But the difference is that I stood up and acted the man, accepted my penalties for my wrong behavior, and am now an asset to my community. I hope, God-forbid the charges are right, he learns his lesson, too. But for now, let's hope he is innocent and my personal feelings of him as an butwipe wimp are all that's there. We will get no where as gun owners if we don't stick together. But when one of us breaks ranks and breaks the law, I will execute the most strict penalty I am capable of participating in. Even though I do not like the man, I am praying he is on the up and up and this is all BS from a bad deal. If he is and I find the accusations were BS, I'll gladly serve as his witness prosecuting the SOB that leveled the charges (if filed yet, which I don't think they are). Solidarity. If he is accused of a wrong and is innocent, I am on his side, no matter how I feel about him personally. If he did as accused, I'll do anything in my power to nail him and put him in prison. Politics should never mix with personality. Sorry I can't elaborate more, bro. But I don't want to get in any trouble. For now, I think Eric could use all of our prayers and good thoughts that he is simply another victim of the propaganda. I know my original reply didn't seem that way, but I was having a REALLY bad day anyway. Truth is, he is either guilty or innocent. Only a court can decide that. And I am against the guilty and sided with the innocent. Wish I could be more help, bro.  I HATE being in this position. I should have never mentioned anything in the first place. He is innocent until proven guilty, and whether we like him or not, we need to stay by his side until the TRUTH comes out No more questions. If it happens, you'll hear about it. |
Richard, I know nothing about Eric other than he owns GT. I've had zero contact with him so have never had the chance to believe or disbelieve anything he's said. If he's a crook then he deserves whatever fate awaits him. My only comment about it was that I didn't blame him, as a forum owner/moderator, for quashing the rumors about Ben Paz. Having run discussion forums in the past I'm all to aware that having wild rumor about an ongoing court case on your board is bad juju. Good luck with your court case. Again, nothing filed to my knowledge. It is not MY court case. I am simply a witness. The fact my name was slandered and libled means I do have a stake in it, though. But I forgave him for putting my name through the mud a long time ago, and completely forgot about him until the phone call. That really riled me up. I am actually pulling for him that he is 100% innocent. He can detest me, and I him, but we have the same common cause. In that, I support him. Now, he sends me an email asking to swap spit in the shower and make nice-nice, he gets a big FU. But, one 2A person to another, he gets my full support until I find out for a fact he is a criminal, and then he gets my bad side. Same for you, TBK1, Ed Sr., my friends, or anyone else that gives us a bad name. Obey the law, I am on your side. Don't and I'll be right there testifying against you, no excuses, no threats, no questions asked. With that said, I have already received one threat from a GT member that if I follow through I "will be sorry" I would LOVE to see that happen! I have one leg, and I can still kick ass. Never, ever, ever threaten me. But , honestly, I will put money on the fact Eric is innocent. His cohorts, however... My good thoughts are with him. They might take him dwn regardless. Always record phone conversations, folks. When they call you, you need not disclose the fact. |

Good enough for me Richard! Thanks for the explanation, I figured you probably wouldn't want to disclose the events (good call on your part). As a side note GT has really gone down hill lately. The Glock specific threads are still good but its just the same shit coming up over and over again. The GD areas have some real 'uppity/yuppie' people in there that I have a hard time dealing with. I find myself on arfcom more as of late. /I miss Tucson and UofA (still reading the hometown forum), but summer up here is hard to beat. |
I'm having a bit of trouble resolving these two statements. In the first one he's guilty, absolutely, positively. In the second, posted 18 hours later, you're betting he's innocent. That's a mighty fast change of heart, what happened? |
