Am working a deal on a rifle with him via email. He does not have any feedback on ARFCOM , ebay , gunbroker , etc. and am trying to check him out before I send money. At this point I have no reason to suspect him , just being careful. His name is Ray Torrez , I think he is in the Phonix area , but not sure. He gave me 3 names that can vouch for him , have only heard from one so far. The 3 are 1) Mark Graham (gunplumber) w/ Arizona Response Systems (phone message left ,have NOT heard from him yet) 2) Pat Sampson with a company called Shooters Supply (email sent , have NOT heard back) 3) Walt with C&T Enterprises , received a email from him saying that Ray is OK Can anyone vouch for these 3 guys as good to go? I have read good things about Gunplumber on this board. Thanks for all help. |
BWAHAAHAHAHAHAH! I remember Graham saying something to the effect that, "No one will enter into a deal with Ray and have anything good come of it." That's paraphrased as best as I can remember it from the numerous times I've heard it.
We're talking about Ray. Ask him about DPS and 7th st and Osborne sometime. I don't think you're supposed to run from the cops, but I could be crazy. |
I agree if Walt give his stamp of approval then the guy must be ok. Walt will not BS you about someone. neither would AZEX, so it really depends on who has the most recent story. |

Thanks Everyone for your input. Ray Torrez can not email me pics of the rifle because he claims to not have a dig camera , add some of the comments here with this and I think I am just going to pass on this one. FYI , anyone in the Arizona AO that is looking for a Galil 372 ARM package for a fair price might want to check it out. I would be all over it if I could do a FTF deal and make sure I was not getting ripped off. |

A wise decision on your part. The guy doesn't have a real job, all he does is buy and sell guns/accessories low and sells them at near retail. Has several times gotten caught impersonating ARS (Gunblumber) on Sturm. Last SAR show I saw him at Robert (RTG Parts) table. Usually you see him glomming onto some reputable dealer at some show. Never has his own table, and until recently, had guns on those tables. Some folks started asking to see his "civil rights restoration" and suddenly, the guns went away and HK, Benelli and other high-end accoutrements, accessories took their place. Been dealing on Sturm for years, where at this point, nearly every post has pics. But somehow this guy can't afford, or figure out, how to buy a cheap digicam and upload pics? Something smells. Way to dodge a bad scene. |

I have known him for years, he is a real friendly guy. I still talk to him every time I see him mooching table space off of a legit dealer at the gun shows. But I will never buy from him again, I do not even look at his stuff anymore. Becaues I know that if the item he is selling is good, his price will be way too high. If it is a good price then there is something wrong with it.
