5th year in a row that I haven't been drawn for SHIT. But it sure is convenient that the non-residents seem to receive all of their tags.

So I'm going Archery in December around the Pinal Mountains. Any good locations? I'm considering the radio tower are.

My freezer is empty and it misses the smell/taste of deer/elk

Thanks

Well took me 8 years to get drawn for any antlered deer in unit 19a! I just spent 5 days there and all I saw where the 2 deer someone else got! Arizona SUCKS for Deer Hunting and I'm going to South Texas next year. I'm gonna try Saturday and Sunday... Last 2 days of my hunt.

I'm going hunting in the Kofa Mountains tomorrow. Went scouting last week, and only say some fresh track in a wash. Seems the drought has killed a lot of deer.

I'm also thinking about leaving the state for a hunt next year.

The deer heard is down nearly 68% in the state. My son's friends Dad is a pilot for Az. Game & Fish. He said it's real slim pickins out there. In areas where I usually hunt , normaly loaded full of deer, now has nearly a track. We have been hit hard by mother nature. It will take 10 to 15 years to rebuild the heards of deer. And that's if we get moisture in above normal levels. I haven't been drawn for anything this year. Spent 7 days bow hunting in the heat of Aug,/ Sept. What a deag that was. I have no idea where to hunt right now. Alot has to do with the weather in the days prior to the Dec, hunt. If we get show pack above 5000', I'll hunt unit 21 on the bottom of Pine Mountain Wilderness. The snow will drive them down just below the snow line. If no weather mover thru, look for a place higher up where they have feed & water as well as a place to bed down.

Good luck, this season really sucks.
