Talking to one of the RO's yesterday: New access off of Houston Rd, new benches, new cover over the benches, and extending the 100 yard range to at least 200 if not 300 yards. Sounds like the money is already there to pay for it all. He guessed construction would start this winter.

Sounds good. Now if they had longer shoot days. Last time I was there range shut down @ 4:40 PM summer or winter.

Money has been approved.

While those improvements sound good, they should come only after the four or five slots at the pistol range are at least tripled IMO.

Haven't been up that way this year, is 42 still under construction from below Waynesville and up?  I use to go every Friday morn and be waiting at the gate for the RO to open up.

Yes. Resurfacing progressing. One lane open each direction.

good to hear of upgrades, ..although I agree the pistol area is the weakest point...

I remember when SV was unsupervised, just a dirt mound with some crude benches. Targets were tv sets, appliances, etc. Hillbilly shooters left their trash when they left. But at least you could do mag dumps.

hot dam, that's good news.  Would be nice to have something longer than the current 100yds.  I personally don't care too much about the pistol range, by which I mean is so bad I just ignore it!.  It's always packed and unless they put in tons of upgrades I'll probably continue to pass for the longer stuff.

If they extend to 300 I'll quit the Middletown club and go back to Spring Valley.
