Does anyone in Cleveland area have Cox for Internet /cable /phone?  I have Att Uverse and am so sick of ATT Bullshit. I had Cox for just cable for years.  They came to house maybe 4-5 times in 20 years.  Then Att got into Parma and offered me a great deal.  They have been to my house at least 10 times in one year.  Had me send back 4 modems 3 DVRs. I will bet I have over 24 hours on the phone with them.  So I tell them I am going to quit.  Of course they give me a "Free" upgrades to keep me.

SO we have HBO/ Cinamax for "Free"  It lasts 5 days and is off.  Call and some women in some 3rd world country tells me it will cost 26.00 a month for the package.  After telling her I all ready made a deal with them for it she won't do nothing about it. Tells me she has no Operator number or reference number for our call.  Then just keeps repeating herself.  Ask for her supervisor.  She put me on hold for 10 mins or so and come back and says he's busy.  Finally she tells OK, but it will not be on until after midnight. So here it is 6:30 in the morning and nothing.

I have had enough of the BS. Att and Cox are my  only choices.  I am just wondering how Cox's bundle works. Any problems?  Thanks for any help

We have time warner in the south and uverse is springing up in places too. I wasnt aware cox was in ohio. I wonder what keeps two big companies like cox and TW from having to compete with each other in an area? Cable is confusing to me. I would like to have about 5 choices in cable tv rather than a couple.

I have Cox, I've had them since they first offered cable internet in this area, 13-14 years now?  Our current "bundle" is $99 a month for TV w/DVR / Internet / Phone (never use it).  We have the highest residential internet speed they offer, I can stream Netflix, watch TV,use my tablet on the wifi and game online at the same time w/o a hiccup.  It has been very reliable as well, can't recall the last outage we have had.  Our neighbor has AT&T U-verse DSL and hates it, much slower, costs more and frequent outages for him.

*Forgot, I pay an extra $8.00 a month for the new cable box in my renovated Man Cave

Thanks for the help.  For the longest time Cox had a monopoly in Parma.  Att was probably the only co. with deep enogh pockets to take them on and win.  So now we have Cox or AT&T.  Still no Time Warner.  So I called Att and the are so sorry.  They give the original offer and a month for free.  I have a month to talk to Cox.

Be thankful Time Warner is not available in your area. It SUCKS. I just dumped TW and went with ATT and am much happier.

We have had Cox Cable Parma TV for 25 years.  City monopoly in Broadview Heights.

Had AT&T DSL Internet when that was state-of-the-art on a separate phone line vs a 14,400 baud modem!  Then Cox offered cable modem on the street and we never looked back.  This summer Cox bundled land line telephone into the plan at a price reduction and we dropped our AT&T phone.  Still have AT&T mobile telephone (Apple equipment).  Currently using a cable box (never did before) for so-called "all HD" tv.  And a DVR is part of the cable box.

Netflix probably gets as much use an regular TV.  100 channels and still nothing to watch!

Here's a test (right now) with the forum (and probably my email) running at the same time.

Adding to the thread with a slight change in locale:

What's the best cable/internet provider in Grove City -- if there's a choice?  Due to work assignments we'll be maintaining another home there for a few years starting later this spring.  Coming home to Cleveland on weekends, etc.  Pinnacle Greens area if that means anything.  I see a lot of dishes roof mounted in the area including the house we're buying.  Internet access is vital.

Thanks,

So  AT&T promise me a free month and the U300 TV, 12 mbs and phone  again on Thursday.  Here it is Sat no TV upgrade.

I call them and they say that I need to agree to a 1 yr contract.  I told them 3 of your people have made me this promise on the deal. I have order number from 2 of them.  After going thru a few  rounds with the resolutions dept operator I ask for the supervisor. The supervisor says No its mistake and goes back to trying to make me commit to a year.  I tell her no way. Then she tells me again that without a contract she can't do anything for me and will not  honor the first agreement that 3 other AT&T people have agreed to.  I tell her that's wrong and is bad business.

So she tells me she will review the phone conversations.  I am supposed waste my Saturday waiting for this women to call back?  Monday I am calling Cox and arranging the switch.  My billing cycle ends on the 27th. I am going to tell COX I need it installed ASAP.  Thank you everyone for your help.
