| I bought my father some night sights for his Kimber 1911 for Christmas. From what ive read on various forums Kimber uses magic and 10,000 pound presses to get their sights in. So, while i am typically a do it your self kind of i person, i am hesitant to attempt these. Does anyone know of a good gunsmith in the central ohio area who could install these? preferably without a 5 week turn around. Thanks. |

No magic required if you bought meprolight nite sights. If not they won't work due to the dovetail cut kimber uses. A vise and drift punch is all that is needed. Oh and be sure to loosen set screw ![]() I wouldn't recommend beating a night site with a drift. I'm sorry, assumed common sense not to take drift and start banging away on the tritium vials. Hit it where the base of sight forms trapezoid shape also known as a dovetail |
