| if a restaurant/bar has the OLD sign up that prohibits firearms, citing the old statute, but none of the actual NO FIREARMS signs, can you carry there? |

It certainly pays to read the statute in question... it's pretty clear *HOW* the signage must be displayed to be legal... if the sign isn't legal, it can be reasonably ignored as it becomes a suggestion and loses it's legal power. I also wouldn't point out that their sign is not in compliance... let them continue to have an improper sign.
I would suggest though, that if someone notices your gat/heater/scooby and asks you to leave... do so without fight. I would also suggest getting a good clear photo of the business front and then a good clear shot of the doorway where the sign is improperly displayed so that you can show, if necessary, that the signage was not legal. Discretion being the better part of valor and all that. Note: I'm not an attorney and the above isn't legal advice. It also is in no way the opinion of my employer. |

if it's the old liquor dept. sign that reads something like "you may be breaking the law if you enter....", i think it's kind of a friendly tip that no longer has any merit, .. look for an obvious gunbuster (i.e. you are not welcome here, regards mgmt).. yep, thats the sign they have (the you may be breaking the law). but they do NOT have any other type of no firearms sign anywhere. |
