Maybe home brewing is getting better, but the times I tried even I couldn't drink it!

I brew all of my own from grains.  There's usually a couple of threads a week in GD and a few buried in the Food section of the outdoors forum. Been trying to get a brewing forum , but no dice so far.

I suggest you read this:

Don't know how close you are to Akron, but this is a top notch place to buy supplies.

Some of the best beer on the market started out as home brew. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is one of them. It costs more to make your own but it is rewarding. Start small and see if you enjoy it before buying fancy equipment.

I have been brewing for about 12 years.Try to do 2 brews a month.

Expensive, just like everything else it's only as expensive as you make it.After all the equipment costs a batch only costs me about $30 for 5 gallons
that's for all grain.

Hard, not really. If you can follow a recipe you can brew. After a batch  or two you will know what to do.

Dangerous, you will be dealing with 3-6 gallons of boiling liquid.Bottles can explode if over carbonated, but if you follow the recipe shouldn't be a problem.

Start, from your name CincyAr,I'll guess you live in Cincinnati.I go to Listermann on Dana Ave. WWW.Listermann.Com they will have everything you need to start.
