On may 1st when Carty lays off 150 cops, the gang unit is going to be disbanded.
The gang bangers in the TPS have already had printed, and are wearing t-shirts that read “when 150 go, we run the show”. That's something to think about... |

Man, I don't miss Toledo at all. Not that I like being in Cleveland. Only thing that keeps me sane is the thought that I don't live in Cinncy ![]() Take a whiff at what's cooking in Dayton. When 3 guys in ski maks carrying AK's run up and light a guy up in broad daylight in a park with children around, you know its going to be a rough summer. |

It's just more proof the COPS have no effect and are becoming null and void as days pass by. But hey that can't happen here this is America and Obmma the lord a savior has come to deliver us. |

Not that much to think about for me.
It just means I'll more stringently enforce my policy of "stay out of Toledo unless its unavoidable". I live about 20 miles outside of Toledo and I get into the city maybe once every 2-3 months. I don't really NEED to go into Toledo for anything, so I'll just avoid it altogether. Now, the policy that says Toledo can do with 150 less police officers, that's some real boneheaded thinking there. You can't keep up with crime now, so you're going to lay off enough officers to make it impossible to effectively keep the semblence of order in the city? Good luck, Toledo. You'll need it. |

No, our court system is becoming null and void. Catching the people who did it generally isn't a problem. Getting the prosecutors and judges on board is the challenge. |

Word is from a couple LEO friends of mine from a different department outside of Toledo is Sheriff Telb will make many or all of the laid off cops "Special deputies"
I happen to live in a somewhat bad neighborhood of Toledo. I so far have not been messed with. But I also make sure I keep my eyes & Ears open at all times. Who wants to take bets on another city wide curfew after a couple months of the gangbangers causing hell? |

I agree with you, as for the cops comment on my part it's was more of the bad guys are no longer afraid of them and the courts have everything to do with that fear level. no courts = no fear. |

Would wearing a "Good Guy" shirt with stenciled surrender hands help? LOL Give away "bad guy" shirts to the gang members. The match fee is 25$, includes lunch and a T-shirt. Proceeds go to the Toledo PD. I should have majored in Marketing! Bigohio |

My dad told me the "party store" ie liquor store around the corner with the Incredibly large, visible drop safe and your on candied camera TV was robed at 6am. you know times are ruff. |

Alright Steve I know you have had shirts made up in the past for sale at the shop. Make up a shirt that Says when 150 go we run the show. Put an AR on the front and adcofirearms with address of shop. You know you would sell the piss out of them. Hell I'd probably buy 2 of them myself. Another shirt idea would be an ar on shirt with Toledo OH Come Heavy Or Go Home with adco and it's address. |

It's crazy that politics has become a viable carreer path for people these days . I seem to remember Carty from when I went to school in Toledo in the early '90s.Yeah, I used to live in Fostoria until 2001. I seem to remember Carty being mayor of Toledo then. I also remember thinking Toledo was a cesspool then. I guess no one else sees the co-relation. By the way, my dad was telling me a kid in Toledo was killed in a driveby shooting last year. The kid was supposed to be a really good athlete and his dad was on tv lamenting that the death of his son meant that his "meal ticket" was gone. Anyone remember this? |

As much as I like bagging on Carty, its really not just him. Toledo is a byproduct of DECADES of Democrat rule and liberal policy. Most conservatives fled that disaster years ago or refuse to move in "behind enemy lines". This is just another of Carty's well-meaning but ill-conceived ideas. I do believe that Carty wants what's best for Toledo, but I also think he's too woefully incompetant to know what that is. WHY he thinks budget is more important than public safety is beyond my comprehension. |
