Alright, I know this is a somewhat sensitive topic to speak about, but I've been here a long time and want some opinions without asking someone FTF.

If someone that I know owns a 12ga Street Sweeper that was never registered, and wanted to sell it, what would be the process? Or is it even possible to do so legally?

My IM box is full right now, but you can e-mail me if you want to keep your answer private.

They're classified as large-bore DDs, right?

So mere possession of an unregistered one would not be a particularly good thing, as far as "the man" is concerned.

Firearm became contraband a number of years ago when he failed to register prior the expiration date.. I think he could quietly strip the serial numbered frame of "parts", and mash/bandsaw the frame into lots of pieces, then sell the parts for profit.

Or, Take the Barrel off. Buy another legal barrel. Now the gun is legal.

Then take a tourch get it real hot. And start cutting making small pieces and making sure that it could never be used as a firearm weapon again.

Then recycle the old steel. And then (Your Friend) never has to look over YOUR  HIS shoulder again.

I/we did this with some Thompson parts that had been toyed with by a older family member.

No it was not a Org. Thompson machine gun. It was a after market clone. Grammps had lost his mind and we didn't even now he had bought the weapon.

After he passed the family was cleaning out the house and found his wepon. So much to our suprise when we loaded it up and it went "zippppppppppppp".

I dam near shit myself.

So from advise from a class-III dealer we removed the parts and cut them up. And replaced them with legal one's.

Gramps was a handy old cus.

I am not sure I would admit to any knowing "someone" with an unregistered nfa weapon on a public forum.
