Good luck.  There is no such thing anymore.  In 2006 I bought Israeli for 11 cents a shot.  I sold it last year for 40 cents a shot.  This year I could get 50.  Embrace the Mosin Nagant.

I reload. It helps cut the cost. Downside is, I can't reload in huge quantities without buying a progressive press.

For about the same price as a case of 308 you could get a Dillon Progressive RL550B and some dies.

I've seen 308 locally for almost $1 a round! Seems to be the only "Cheap" ammo is th roll your own variety and even that it's very "Cheap". Try the Reloading forum in the General forum/area for more reloading info.

I was at the range on Sunday and there was a young guy with a CETME rifle doing mag dumps. Sure enough he packed up his stuff and left about 300 rounds of empty brass on the ground. The headstamps read A80 7.62 R1M1 and there are some with Winchester stamps mixed in. Is this stuff reloadable?

It should be.  I've also got a bunch of reloadable .308 brass but not sure what to trade it for.  I've pretty much gone over to x54 and mosins, but something in the back of my mind told me to save the .308 brass, I don't know why cause I don't reload YET.

I'd shoot it...if I could find it.

I pulled out some AIM surplus flyers from a few years ago. Does anyone remember these prices?

Those prices make me sick to my stomach.
